Recently, Wei Weihua, Director of the Environmental Impact Assessment and Emission Management Division of the Department of Ecology and Environment of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, stated at a press conference that, regarding the construction of the Beihai Tieshangang deep-sea discharge project, the autonomous region's Department of Ecology and Environment will strengthen overall coordination, guide Yulin and Beihai cities to strictly advance according to the reverse-scheduled timetable, regularly track and urge progress, and strive to complete the construction of the Beihai sea area and land section before the end of 2024, and complete the cross-sea section before June 2025.
The Beihai Tieshangang deep-sea sewage discharge pipeline network project has a total length of 36.17 kilometers and a total investment of 3.053 billion yuan, passing through the two cities of Yulin and Beihai. Yulin City is responsible for constructing the section from Tieshan East Port to Tieshan West Port (the cross-sea section), with a total length of 7.92 kilometers and a total investment of 1.233 billion yuan, of which approximately 270 million yuan has been completed. Beihai City is responsible for constructing the section from Tieshan West Port to the A5 deep-sea discharge outlet; the land section has a total length of 11.95 kilometers and a total investment of 472 million yuan, of which approximately 200 million yuan has been completed; the sea section has a total length of 16.3 kilometers and a total investment of 1.348 billion yuan, of which approximately 280 million yuan has been completed.
The construction of this project will greatly alleviate the pressure of the new industrial wastewater discharge demand of a batch of recently signed and constructed "Double Hundred Double New" projects, such as the lithium battery project in Yulin Longtan Industrial Park and Beihai City's Nine Dragons Paper, and will provide guarantees for the development of the marine economy in Yulin and Beihai cities.
