Recently, 22 major engineering projects in the third batch of Haikou City's 2024 projects started construction in a concentrated manner. Since the beginning of this year, Haikou has continued to expand effective investment and accelerate the construction of key projects. This concentrated start of construction once again demonstrates Haikou's determination and confidence to go all out in the battle to expand investment and increase efficiency, and to unswervingly complete the annual economic and social development goals and tasks.
It is understood that the 22 projects launched in this concentrated start have a total investment of 15.239 billion yuan, covering urban renewal, industrial development infrastructure, public services and other fields.
At present, Haikou City is accelerating the pace of urban renewal and promoting a "transformation" of the city's appearance. On the same day, four urban renewal projects started simultaneously, located in Qiongshan District, Xiuying District and Longhua District of Haikou City, involving a renewal area of 442.44 mu and benefiting 3,070 people.
The Boya Area (Phase II) Urban Renewal Project in Qiongshan District is located on Binjiang West Road, with a total investment of about 3.2 billion yuan. Its construction content includes 7 resettlement housing buildings and 10 market-oriented commercial housing buildings, totaling 1,164 households; it also includes supporting public service facilities such as public green space, shopping malls, vegetable markets, cultural activity stations, day care centers for the elderly, and community health service stations.
The Guilin Area (Phase III) Urban Renewal Project in Qiongshan District has a total investment of about 869 million yuan and a renewal area of 55.09 mu. After completion, it will effectively solve problems such as flooding caused by the local low terrain; the Haihong Area Urban Renewal Project in Longhua District has a total investment of about 4.47 billion yuan and a renewal area of about 160 mu. The project will promote the area's function from production to living and from an industrial zone to an urban area, enhancing the urban appearance of Longhua District; the Yeli Plaza Urban Renewal Project in Xiuying District has a total investment of about 1 billion yuan, and its construction content mainly includes commercial buildings, municipal roads, etc. After completion, it will revitalize resources, increase village collective income, open up dead-end roads, improve the road network, and make residents' lives more comfortable.
In addition to the above four urban renewal projects, there are also eight industrial development projects with a total investment of 2.42 billion yuan, nine infrastructure projects including the Haikou City Huandian Island coastline connectivity project with a total investment of 3.2 billion yuan, and one public service project with a total investment of 80 million yuan.
Han Lei, director of the project department of Haikou Meilan District Investment Promotion and Construction Investment Co., Ltd., introduced that the Haikou City Huandian Island coastline connectivity project has a total length of 8.8 kilometers. Its main construction includes the connectivity of three paths: a walking path, a cycling path and a running path, and also includes basic landscape enhancement and infrastructure renovation. It is planned to be completed and connected before December this year.
Among the projects launched in this concentrated start, Haikou Jiangdong New Area has 5 projects under construction, with a total investment of 1.7 billion yuan. They are the Meihua Aviation (Hainan) Smart Industrial Park Project, the Jiangdong New Area International Premium Consumer Goods Industrial Port Project, the Hainan Consulting and Design Industry Base Project, the Haikou Jiangdong New Area Park Supporting Infrastructure Project (Phase VI), and the Jiangdong New Area Sanitation Base (including transfer station) Project. In terms of investment structure, there are 3 social investment projects and 2 government investment projects; in terms of project types, there are 3 industrial projects, 1 livelihood and public service project, and 1 infrastructure project.
A relevant person in charge of the Haikou Jiangdong New Area Administration said that after the projects are completed, they will effectively boost industrial agglomeration in the park, enhance the attractiveness to high-quality talent and enterprises, improve the safety of power supply in and around the park, further promote industry-city integration, and further increase the job-housing balance ratio.
