　　 On behalf of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, Gong Zheng extended a warm welcome to the President for his visit to Shanghai. He said that China and Mozambique are true friends and true brothers who stand together through thick and thin. Shanghai is an important bridge for friendly exchanges between China and Mozambique; in 1999, Shanghai established a sister-city relationship with Maputo, the capital of Mozambique. At present, Shanghai is accelerating its efforts to build itself into a socialist modern international metropolis with global influence, and hopes to take the opportunity of high-quality Belt and Road cooperation to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the two places and achieve high-level mutual benefit and win-win results. He looks forward to deepening economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two sides, warmly welcomes Mozambican enterprises to continue to showcase themselves at the China International Import Expo, and hopes that Mozambique will continue to support Shanghai enterprises in investing and doing business in Mozambique and strengthen cooperation in agriculture, minerals and energy. Mozambique is home to Maputo Port, a renowned modern port in Africa, and Shanghai is willing to strengthen cooperation in port construction, port and shipping services and other areas, so as to build a link of connectivity for China and Africa. We also welcome people from all walks of life in Mozambique to visit Shanghai to deepen understanding and enhance friendship.

　　 Nyusi said that Shanghai is a modern, warm and hospitable city and also the birthplace of the Communist Party of China, so I chose Shanghai as the first stop of my visit to China. China is committed to improving people's living standards and has achieved a leap in economic development. I would like to congratulate China and Shanghai on such great achievements and progress. Mozambique has experienced many difficulties, and we thank China for its strong support, which has enabled us to achieve steady development. I hope more Chinese people will learn about Mozambique, carry out friendly exchanges, explore more possibilities for investment cooperation and promote better development.
