In July this year, the Phase I project of Yefeng Road, part of the infrastructure supporting the Sanya Modern Service Industry Park, officially began construction. At present, the project is working to a reverse schedule and striving to complete on time while ensuring both quality and quantity.

The Haitang Bay Yefeng Road Phase I project starts at Yelin Road and ends at Section C of Road No. 3. The road is classified as an urban secondary arterial road, and the plan is to build an above-ground road about 1.56 kilometers long and an underground road about 1.96 kilometers long.

The construction scope of the Yefeng Road Phase I project includes the above-ground road and an underground vehicular system (including the underground road, ramps and reserved entrances and exits). The construction content covers road, traffic, tunnel, bridge, water supply and drainage, fire protection, lighting and other works. The estimated total investment of the project is 1.13 billion yuan.

According to reports, about 30,000 cubic meters of earthwork excavation has been completed so far; a total of 2,865 secant piles for the retaining structure have been completed; a total of 696 bored piles have been completed; a total of 717 cement mixing piles for the waterproof curtain have been constructed; 318 meters of capping beams have been completed; and 68 meters of cushion layer for the ramp at Section C of Road No. 3 in the open-cut section have been completed.

The Yefeng Road underground road is planned to have a total length of 5.3 kilometers and will be built in three phases. It will become the province's first extra-long underground municipal road. Once completed, the project will provide supporting infrastructure for the traffic systems of major planned and under-construction projects along the route, such as Duty Free City Phase II, Duty Free City Phase III and Golden Street, further alleviating the chronic congestion on Haitang North Road and effectively promoting the development of the entire area.
