The Green Chain International Cooperation Fund, initiated and established by the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), was unveiled in Beijing on August 27 and signed agreements with partners to carry out public welfare projects for combating desertification. The "Block Sandstorms, Join Hands to Plant Green, Protect Our Shared Home Together" China-Mongolia desertification prevention and green development demonstration ecological science and technology public welfare project was thus officially launched.

The CBCGDF Green Chain International Cooperation Fund was officially unveiled and established.

At the "Academic Conference on Jointly Building an Ecological Security Barrier and Green Development and the Founding Conference of the CBCGDF Green Chain International Cooperation Fund" hosted by CBCGDF and the Alliance of International Science Organizations (ANSO) under the Belt and Road Initiative, the CBCGDF Green Chain International Cooperation Fund, the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (IGSNRR), and the Institute of Geography and Geoecology of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences jointly signed a cooperation agreement on public welfare projects for combating desertification. According to the plan, the partners will work with relevant Mongolian government departments to jointly establish an international desertification control experimental base along the route that Siberian cold fronts and Mongolian sandstorms must pass through as they move southward.

Around the desertification control experimental base, the project cooperation team will attract global enterprises, universities, institutions, individual volunteers and other social forces to jointly participate in building a green-planting and sand-prevention scientific experimental base and a green development demonstration area, cooperatively build an environmental and ecological monitoring system, carry out public welfare activities such as scientific research, green planting, exchanges and ecological education, and create a green ecological public good with international influence.
