Construction on all sections of the Baotou-Yinchuan High-Speed Railway Wuhai segment is in full swing, with builders seizing the "golden period" for construction, pushing the "progress bar" to the max, and working to turn the project's "construction drawings" into "completed reality" as soon as possible.
On the morning of August 21, at the construction site of the continuous girder spanning Haida West Street of the Wuhai Grand Bridge project of the Baotou-Yinchuan High-Speed Railway, located near Xuefu East Bridge in Haibowan District, vehicles shuttled and machinery roared. On Piers No. 155 and No. 156, workers were carrying out construction in a tense and orderly manner according to their division of labor, while trains occasionally passed by on the adjacent steel tracks.
The continuous girder spanning Haida West Street from Piers No. 154 to No. 157 (40 m + 64 m + 40 m) is 145.2 meters long, with a bridge deck width of 12.2 meters and a height of 14.74 meters. It consists of 23 segments in total, including 2 Pier Table segments (Segment 0), 16 cantilever segments, 2 side-span cast-in-place segments, 2 side-span closure segments, and 1 mid-span closure segment. It is constructed using socket-type ringlock scaffolding and diamond-shaped form travelers, with C50 concrete for pouring, using approximately 2,018 cubic meters of concrete.
Zhang Mengran, chief engineer of the Third Work Area of the Baotou-Yinchuan High-Speed Railway Project Management Department of China Railway 20th Bureau Group Co., Ltd., introduced: "At present, the side-span cast-in-place segments at Piers No. 154 and No. 157 of the continuous girder spanning Haida West Street have been completed; Pier No. 155 is undergoing Segment No. 6 construction, and Pier No. 156 is undergoing Segment No. 7 construction. According to the construction plan, the continuous girder spanning Haida West Street is expected to achieve closure in early October."
The continuous girder spanning Haida West Street has a large span, and since Haida West Street is an important municipal road in Haibowan District with huge traffic volume, the project involves high technical standards, high risk coefficients, and considerable difficulty in construction quality control.
To ensure the smooth construction of the continuous girder spanning Haida West Street, the Baotou-Yinchuan High-Speed Railway Project Department of China Railway 20th Bureau has consistently adhered to the principle of "safety first, quality foremost," strengthened communication with the supervision unit, design unit, railway authorities, and local traffic management departments, further optimized the construction plan, enhanced safety management at the construction site, earnestly implemented the three-level safety education system, conducted safety technical briefings, carried out regular safety production inspections, and required construction personnel to strictly follow specifications and standards during construction, making every effort to ensure construction safety and project quality.
