Recently, with the successful pouring of the No. 0 block of the main pier of the Chuzhou River low-tower cable-stayed bridge—the largest-span bridge on the entire Nanjing-Huai'an Intercity Railway line—it marks that this key control project, which features high technical content and great construction difficulty, has officially entered a new stage of continuous girder construction.

The Chuzhou River low-tower cable-stayed bridge of the Liuhe Grand Bridge on the Nanjing-Huai'an Intercity Railway is a key control project on the entire line featuring a large span, high technical content, and complex construction difficulty. The bridge has a total length of 522 meters and a main span of 220 meters. The No. 0 block of the No. 710 main pier poured this time has a segment length of 21 meters, a width of 12.6 meters, and a height of 10.5 meters, with a designed concrete volume of 1,219.1 cubic meters. It is constructed using the disc-buckle bracket method and completed in a single pour.
To ensure the smooth completion of the No. 0 block pouring, the Project Department of Section 5 of the Nanjing-Huai'an Intercity Railway Station Front Project of China Railway Shanghai Engineering Bureau Group Co., Ltd. adhered to refined construction, ensuring quality through craftsmanship and safety through quality. It held multiple special construction meetings, refined the division of responsibilities, optimized the construction plan, and rationally allocated resources. Around key processes such as formwork assembly, rebar tying, and prestressing installation, technicians supervised and monitored the entire process to improve construction efficiency and quality. During the pouring process, the performance of the concrete mixture and the temperature at which it entered the formwork were strictly controlled to ensure controlled pouring quality.

It is reported that the Nanjing-Huai'an Intercity Railway is a backbone line of the intercity railway network of the urban agglomeration along the Yangtze River in Jiangsu Province and an important component of the intercity rail transit network of the Yangtze River Delta. The newly built line has a total length of 179 kilometers, including 134 kilometers in Jiangsu and 45 kilometers in Anhui, with a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour. The entire line has 6 stations: Huai'an East, Hongze, Jinhu, Tianchang, Liuhe West, and Nanjing North.
After the Nanjing-Huai'an Intercity Railway project is completed and put into operation, Nanjing and Huai'an will achieve one-hour direct access. This is of great significance for improving the regional intercity rail transit network, enhancing railway transport capacity and service quality, promoting the coordinated and sustainable economic development of areas along the line in Jiangsu and Anhui, and accelerating the construction of a modern comprehensive transportation system across the province.
