Recently, the main works of the quality improvement and upgrading project of the Qingshangang Tunnel on the G56 Hangrui Expressway have been fully completed, and two-lane normal traffic has been orderly restored. After the upgrading and renovation, the lighting is brighter, the road markings are clearer, and the road surface is smoother.

Since its opening in 2008, the Qingshangang Tunnel has consistently safeguarded the important mission of connecting the country's major east-west transportation artery. In the blink of an eye, this "safeguarding" has lasted for 16 years, making the quality improvement and upgrading imperative. The implementation of the Qingshangang Tunnel quality improvement and upgrading project is of great significance in terms of transportation support for enhancing the tunnel's traffic capacity, smoothing the regional development cycle, and boosting the integration of the local cultural and tourism industries.

The project commenced in early June. Under the premise of ensuring safety, quality, and progress, the Yuanling Management Office of the Changde Branch optimized the allocation of various resources, reversed the construction schedule, and advanced node by node. During construction, the construction plan was continuously improved, and the deployment of personnel, equipment, and materials was rationally planned. Construction techniques were strictly controlled. All participating units successively completed the renewal of the electro-optical signs inside the tunnel, the renewal and upgrading of the tunnel lighting facilities, the renewal of the fireproof coating on the tunnel inner walls, the renewal and upgrading of the tunnel electromechanical and fire-fighting facilities and equipment, and the improvement of signs and markings, successfully completing the quality improvement and upgrading renovation of both tubes of the Qingshangang Tunnel.
