On August 19, 2024, the review meeting for the China Machinery Industry Federation group standard "Construction Machinery and Equipment — Hydraulic Pile Turner" was held in Beijing. The successful convening of this meeting marks another important milestone in the standardization of China's hydraulic pile turner industry, aiming to improve the safety and operational efficiency of hydraulic pile turners and to promote technical exchange and development in this field.

The meeting was chaired by Liu Shuang, Secretary-General of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Construction Machinery and Equipment. At the meeting, Liu Shuang first introduced the attending leaders and experts; subsequently, Hu Jiaming, Deputy Director of the Standards Work Department of the China Machinery Industry Federation, delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of standardization in industry development.

Guo Chuanxin, Secretary-General of the Pile Machinery Branch of the China Construction Machinery Society, also spoke at the meeting, noting that against the backdrop of rapid infrastructure development, the hydraulic pile turner, as an important auxiliary means of construction machinery, has standardization of great significance for enhancing construction safety and efficiency. Lin Deng, Chairman of Zhejiang Yong'an Engineering Machinery Co., Ltd., the lead drafting organization, also expressed great importance attached to this review work.

The subsequent standard review session was chaired by Qiang Yi, Deputy Director of the Expert Working Committee for Group Standards of the China Machinery Industry Federation. In this session, the standard drafting group gave a detailed introduction to the main technical content, formulation basis, and related background of the group standard, and conducted in-depth discussion on the draft for review.

As a modern auxiliary device for pile lifting, the hydraulic pile turner has developed rapidly in recent years in China's infrastructure construction and offshore wind power projects. The equipment is not only compact, capable of heavy lifting, and easy to operate, but can also effectively reduce construction costs and improve construction efficiency and safety. However, there is currently a lack of unified standards in the manufacture and use of hydraulic pile turners in China, which has led to some safety accidents and engineering quality problems. Therefore, the formulation of this standard will greatly promote the standardized development of the hydraulic pile turner industry and provide enterprises with a safe and efficient basis for operation.

The successful holding of this review meeting has laid the foundation for the standardization of the hydraulic pile turner industry. It is expected that the implementation of this standard in the future will bring better development prospects to the industry and further enhance the safety and technical level of hydraulic pile turners.
