Though the road is long, traveling brings arrival; at the Xinjiang Hotan border, a journey spanning five thousand kilometers. Though the mountains are high, climbing brings attainment; across the towering Kunlun Mountains, a trek to an altitude of five thousand meters.

Recently, the foundation treatment project for the 35 kV main step-down substation area of the mining industrial site of the Dahongliutan rare metal mine in Hotan, Xinjiang, undertaken by Jiye Technology, is in full swing. This is another high-altitude (up to 4830 m) construction following the foundation project for the ore-dressing system of the Xiarhamu nickel-cobalt mining and processing project in Golmud City on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau (at an altitude of up to 3300 m); it is also another border-area construction project following the concentrator project of the technical transformation project for the additional 15000 t/d low-grade resources and waste rock utilization at the Wuqia County operation of Xinjiang Zijin Zinc Industry.

Photo: Special construction equipment is transported by truck from Jiangxi to the project site in Xinjiang, traveling about 5500 kilometers and taking 8-10 days to arrive. Because the slopes at the project location are steep, the large trucks carrying construction machinery have severely insufficient power and cannot move under their own power, so they must be driven with external force.

Facing thin air, extreme temperature differences, and complex terrain and landforms, each is an extreme test of technology and willpower. Yet it is precisely these seemingly impossible challenges that have inspired unprecedented creativity and indomitable spirit in the Jiye Technology team.

Photo: Due to high-altitude operations, construction personnel and machinery are seriously affected. Especially regarding personnel, although before departure the company conducted physical examinations of all personnel in accordance with regulations and requirements to ensure nothing goes wrong, almost everyone still experienced altitude sickness such as low fever and nausea to varying degrees. Therefore, on-site managers closely monitor employees' physical conditions and, upon discovering abnormalities, coordinate solutions at the first opportunity.

In response to the special circumstances of this project—deep fill containing large amounts of large boulders (isolated rocks)—Jiye Technology adopted the company's recently successfully developed 'track-following impact hole-forming rock-breaking compaction pile method' plus a combined hammer foundation treatment construction plan to ensure the smooth completion of this construction and compliance with design requirements.

But time waits for no one, and the schedule does not allow time to catch one's breath; Jiye Technology must work day and night.
