On August 19, 2024, the press conference for the China (Beijing) International Construction Machinery, Building Material Machinery and Mining Machinery Exhibition (hereinafter referred to as BICES 2025) was grandly held in Beijing. At the conference, Li Jianyou, Vice President of the China Construction Machinery Association (hereinafter referred to as the Association), Chairman of the Dual Carbon Working Committee, and Executive Chairman of the Dual Carbon Standardization Committee, delivered a keynote speech titled "Continuously Building BICES into a High-End Green Exhibition Platform and Accelerating the Green Transformation and High-Quality Development of the Construction Machinery Industry."

Good morning, everyone!

It is a great pleasure, in this season full of vitality and energy, to meet you in Beijing at the BICES 2025 press conference site, to jointly witness the launch of this grand event and its related work.

As is well known, the era we live in is facing unprecedented changes. The adverse effects brought by changes in the external environment are increasing, domestic effective demand is insufficient, economic operation has become differentiated, risks and hidden dangers in key areas remain numerous, and the transition between old and new growth drivers involves growing pains. In the face of these problems arising in development and transformation, the concept of green development has become a global consensus. The Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China made arrangements for accelerating the comprehensive green transformation of economic and social development. The recently released "Opinions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council on Accelerating the Comprehensive Green Transformation of Economic and Social Development" provides systematic planning and overall deployment for accelerating this transformation, clarifying the overall requirements, main objectives, and implementation paths. It is of great significance for promoting the green transformation of development modes, comprehensively advancing the building of a Beautiful China, and achieving high-quality development. As an important pillar industry of the national economy, the construction machinery industry has the responsibility and obligation to actively respond to the national strategy, promote the industry's green transformation, and achieve sustainable development.

In order to fully implement the national dual carbon strategy and promote the green transformation and development of the construction machinery industry, the Dual Carbon Working Committee of the China Construction Machinery Association (hereinafter referred to as the Dual Carbon Committee) actively cooperated with the BICES Organizing Committee and, for the first time at BICES 2023, added exhibition content and a dedicated exhibition zone for green and low-carbon technologies, equipment, and services (hereinafter referred to as the BICES 2023 Green Zone). It attracted major enterprises across the industrial chain, including mainframe manufacturers, battery-motor-electronic-control enterprises, core supporting components, and testing and certification bodies, to appear in the BICES 2023 Green Zone, displaying green and low-carbon technologies, electric new energy construction machinery equipment, and services, and supporting green transportation, green mining, and green urban and rural construction. At the same time, the Association's Dual Carbon Committee and the BICES Organizing Committee carried out selection and recognition activities around the green transformation and development of construction machinery to commend the industry's green innovation achievements. The Association's Dual Carbon Committee organized and held a dual carbon standardization work conference and released the "Guiding Opinions on the Implementation of Carbon Peaking Work in the Construction Machinery Industry," providing enterprises with emission reduction guidance and technology roadmaps and promoting industry energy efficiency improvement and green technology innovation.

The BICES 2023 Green Zone not only became a major highlight of the exhibition and received widespread attention from inside and outside the industry, but also became a stage for exchange, cooperation, and win-win outcomes for people inside and outside the industry, a platform for promoting high-level green development of the industry, and a window for building a green business ecosystem across the entire industry, accelerating the green and low-carbon transformation and development of the industry. As President Su Zimeng just introduced, electric construction machinery products are already being widely promoted and applied in production and daily life, effectively reducing energy consumption and emissions and contributing to the realization of China's "dual carbon" strategy.

General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out that green development is the underlying color of high-quality development, and that new quality productive forces are themselves green productive forces. Promoting the green transformation and upgrading of construction machinery, cultivating and strengthening new drivers of green development, developing new quality productive forces in accordance with local conditions, and striving to promote high-quality development of the industry are among the important tasks of the Association's Dual Carbon Committee. On the occasion of the launch and preparation of BICES 2025, through extensive prior visits, research, and communication, and drawing on relevant experience from BICES 2023, after discussion with the exhibition organizing committee, we have decided to further advance the construction machinery green and low-carbon series action plan at BICES 2025 and to continuously build a high-end green display, exchange, and cooperation platform, including opening a Green Zone and organizing special activities around **hot topics, so as to provide everyone with a display, exchange, cooperation, and promotion platform based on green and low-carbon technologies, products, and applications in the construction machinery industry. The BICES 2025 Green Action Plan will have the following characteristics.

The BICES 2025 Green Zone will be larger.On the basis of the BICES 2023 Green Zone, the BICES 2025 Green Zone will further expand the exhibition area to better meet exhibitors' display needs and visitors' experience expectations. This will provide exhibitors with broader space to display their **achievements in green and low-carbon technologies, products, and applications.

The BICES 2025 Green Zone will be more comprehensive. The BICES 2025 Green Zone will display new energy construction machinery mainframes such as electric and hydrogen-powered equipment, key components including battery-motor-electronic-control supporting systems, inspection and testing, battery charging and swapping, hydrogen refueling and other operation and maintenance technologies and equipment; energy-saving, low-carbon, and clean production technologies and equipment related to green manufacturing; new energy technologies and equipment integrating wind, solar, and storage; and energy management and carbon management technologies and equipment, providing enterprises and the industry with an all-round, full-domain display space and giving visitors opportunities for in-depth understanding and experience.

The BICES 2025 Green Zone will be more innovative.The construction machinery industry has always adhered to innovation and transformation. The BICES 2025 Green Zone will focus on displaying scientific and technological innovation, product innovation, application innovation, service innovation, and business model innovation that support the industry's green transformation, build a high ground for green development display, accelerate the demonstration, application, and promotion of advanced and applicable technologies, strive to advance the industry's green and low-carbon technological revolution, and actively promote the accelerated development of new industries, new business forms, and new business models oriented toward green and low-carbon development.

The BICES 2025 Green Zone will be more specialized.We will join forces with high-quality resources, invite experts in professional fields and users to visit and negotiate, ensure that the exhibition and display effects continue to extend downward and be implemented on the ground, give play to the industry's five-in-one innovation mechanism integrating government, industry, academia, research, and application, promote supply-demand matching, provide market-oriented cooperation opportunities, and provide industry colleagues with full-chain, three-dimensional services from exhibiting to visiting to win-win cooperation.

The BICES 2025 Green Forum will be more high-end.At BICES 2025, the Association's Dual Carbon Committee will hold a high-end forum around the coordinated transformation and development of digitalization and greening. While further promoting in-depth exchange and cooperation across the industrial chain, it will deeply discuss topics such as the deep integration of digitalization and greening and standards taking the lead in promoting the industry's green development, so as to enable digital technology and standardization work to empower green transformation and promote the formation of green and low-carbon production modes and lifestyles.

The BICES 2025 green selection and recognition activities will be more refined.During BICES 2025, we will continue to promote a new round of selection and recognition activities around the green transformation and development of construction machinery, showcasing outstanding achievements emerging across the industry in green development, technological innovation, and other aspects. These are the meticulous creations of industry colleagues and a refined embodiment of the industry spirit. They have set leading benchmarks for the industry's green development, contributed unique wisdom and strength, stimulated great innovative vitality, and driven the construction machinery industry toward more efficient and more environmentally friendly development.

Friends, with the convening of the BICES 2025 press conference, the preparation work related to the BICES 2025 construction machinery green and low-carbon series action plan has also officially started. We will actively give play to the industry think tank, organizational, and service functions of the Dual Carbon Committee, the Dual Carbon Standardization Committee, and the Dual Carbon Expert Pool in planning, guiding, and promoting the industry's green and low-carbon transformation and development; make full use of the BICES exhibition platform, which is based in the capital Beijing, radiates across the country, and faces the world; and work closely with the BICES 2025 Organizing Committee to go all out to create a green grand event of high standards, high quality, and high level, providing more market opportunities, investment opportunities, and growth opportunities for all participants, forging synergy, and jointly promoting development.
