August 16 (Xinhua) — According to the website of the National Meteorological Center, the National Meteorological Center continued to issue a blue rainstorm warning at 10:00 on August 16: It is expected that from 14:00 on August 16 to 14:00 on August 17, parts of central and southern Hunan, southern Jiangxi, southern Fujian, central and eastern Guangxi, most of Guangdong, western and northern Hainan Island, southern Taiwan Island, as well as western Yunnan, central Shaanxi, western and northern Hebei, and western and northern Beijing will experience heavy to torrential rain, among which southern Hunan, the southern coastal areas of Guangdong and other places will see localized torrential rain (100–140 mm). Some of the above areas will be accompanied by short-duration heavy precipitation (maximum hourly rainfall of 20–50 mm, with localized amounts exceeding 70 mm), and localized severe convective weather such as thunderstorms and gales.

　　1. Governments and relevant departments shall carry out rainstorm prevention preparations in accordance with their duties;

　　2. Schools and kindergartens shall take appropriate measures to ensure the safety of students and young children;

　　3. Drivers shall pay attention to road waterlogging and traffic congestion to ensure safety;

　　4. Inspect the drainage systems of cities, farmland and fish ponds, and make preparations for waterlogging drainage.
