Recently, the Wuhan Municipal Natural Resources and Urban-Rural Development Bureau publicly announced a plan. The plan shows that the second phase of the eastern section of Wuhan Rail Transit Line 11 will include 6 subway stations.

The pre-approval public notice of the plan states that the station project for the second phase of the eastern section of Rail Transit Line 11, submitted by Wuhan Metro Group Co., Ltd., is located in Wuchang District, Hongshan District, and East Lake High-tech Development Zone of Wuhan.

According to the general layout plan, the 6 stations are Dingziqiao Station, Guanshan Avenue Station, Wuhan Sports University Station, Wuchang Railway Station East Square Station, Mafangshan Station, and Huquan Station.

Data shows that the second phase of the eastern section of Wuhan Rail Transit Line 11 starts from Wuhan East Station, the first phase of the eastern section of Line 11, and ends at Wuchang Railway Station, with a total length of 12.489 kilometers. Once completed, the line will further strengthen the transport connection between the two major transportation hubs of Wuchang Railway Station and Wuhan East Station, and add a high-capacity rail passenger corridor between the "two major transportation corridors" of Wuluo Road, Luoyu Road, and Xiongchu Avenue.

According to the 2024 Wuhan Municipal Government Work Report, Wuhan will open three rail transit lines this year: the second phase of the Qianchuan Line, the second phase of the eastern section of Line 11, and the first opening section of the third phase of Line 11.
