On August 12, the first continuous girder for turnouts on the East Guangdong Intercity Railway, invested in and constructed by the East Guangdong Intercity Company under the Railway Investment Group, was successfully poured. This is the first continuous girder for turnouts completed across the entire project, marking a new stage in the project's overall construction.

The first continuous girder for turnouts is located at piers 8-12 of the extra-large bridge between Changmei Station and Jieyang South Station in Jieyang City. The continuous girder has a total length of 130.6 meters, a bottom slab width of 4.9 meters, a top slab width of 11.6 meters, and a girder height of 2.26 meters, with a designed pour of 1,298.355 cubic meters of C50 concrete.

To ensure the smooth pouring of the first continuous girder for turnouts, the East Guangdong Intercity Company organized the participating construction units to prepare a special scheme for concrete pouring of the turnout girder, strictly controlled requirements in aspects such as machinery and equipment configuration, concrete supply organization at the mixing plant, girder pouring and vibration methods, conducted detailed safety and quality briefings and training for all operating personnel, and promptly coordinated various tasks during construction, ensuring the successful completion of the pouring of the first continuous girder for turnouts.

The successful pouring of the first continuous girder for turnouts has laid a solid foundation for the project's subsequent construction. The East Guangdong Intercity Company will continue to strengthen its organization and coordination functions, work with full vigor, and ensure the high-quality and efficient completion of the annual production targets.

The East Guangdong Intercity Railway is an important component of the "one ring and one ray" of the East Guangdong regional intercity railway network plan approved by the National Development and Reform Commission. It connects transportation hubs such as Shantou Station, Chaoshan Station, Jieyang Station, and Jieyang Chaoshan Airport, and extends into the central urban areas of Shantou, Chaozhou, and Jieyang.

After the East Guangdong Intercity Railway is completed, the main economic strongholds, densely populated areas, and transportation hubs in the Shantou, Chaozhou, and Jieyang regions will be linked together like beads on a string, further opening up the regional transportation "internal circulation." By connecting with railways such as the Shantou-Shanwei High-Speed Railway, Meizhou-Shantou High-Speed Railway, Xiamen-Shenzhen High-Speed Railway, Shantou-Zhangzhou High-Speed Railway, and Guang'ao Port Railway, it will accelerate the smooth flow of the "external circulation," enable convenient travel between East Guangdong and major cities in regions such as the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Xiamen-Zhangzhou-Quanzhou, southern Jiangxi, and western Fujian, and accelerate high-level linkage between East Guangdong and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It is of great significance for building the Shantou-Chaozhou-Jieyang "30-minute commuting circle" and promoting high-quality development in East Guangdong.
