On the morning of August 13, the left tube of the Tieguanyin Tunnel on the Anxi Chengxiang–Guanqiao section of National Highway G358 was holed through two months ahead of schedule, marking major progress in the project's construction schedule.

The Anxi Chengxiang–Guanqiao section of National Highway G358 is a key livelihood project in Fujian Province and an important component of Anxi County's comprehensive multi-dimensional transportation network. The route is 16.767 km long and is divided into five contract sections for construction; once completed, it will lay a solid foundation for the development of Anxi County's "Greater Third Ring" initiative.

As a key node project of this effort, the Tieguanyin Tunnel in Contract Section V began tunnel excavation in April 2023. Its left tube is 2,800 meters long, with a maximum burial depth of 485 meters and a maximum cross-sectional area of 160 square meters. It combines multiple complex geological conditions such as "soft ground, shallow cover, asymmetrical loading, small clear distance, and water seepage," and involves multiple construction methods including the CRD method, CD method, benching method, and full-face method.

By adjusting construction techniques, strengthening support and monitoring, and organizing construction scientifically, the project team adopted the method of "anchor-and-shotcrete grout-stop wall + mortar pumping," successfully overcoming the difficulties of the tunnel's shallow-cover section and smoothly advancing the left tube at the tunnel's entrance portal to holing through on schedule.
