On August 13, the mid-span of the Meishan Waterway Bridge of the Phase I project of the Liuheng Highway Bridge at Ningbo Zhoushan Port was successfully closed, laying a solid foundation for the entire line to meet the conditions for opening to traffic within the year.

　　The Phase I project of the Liuheng Highway Bridge at Ningbo Zhoushan Port has a total length of 10.798 kilometers and a total investment of approximately 4.36 billion yuan.

　　The Meishan Waterway Bridge closed this time has a total length of 510 meters and is a cable-stayed concrete bridge with two towers and two cable planes. The cable towers are designed with a portal-type tower body with a total height of 96 meters, making it a key control project of the entire line.

　　Up to now, the project has cumulatively applied for 33 national patents, striving to build a "Safe Century-Quality Project" to higher standards.

　　It is reported that the entire Liuheng Highway Bridge project is divided into two phases. After full completion and opening to traffic, Meishan, Liuheng and Fodu will end their history of having no expressway access. At the same time, it will also open up the collection and distribution channels of two important port areas of Ningbo Zhoushan Port, namely Liuheng and Meishan, further improve the sea-land interconnected collection and distribution network of Ningbo Zhoushan Port, and advance the construction of the Zhejiang Zhoushan Archipelago New Area and the development of Zhejiang's marine economy.
