　　This is a brilliant answer sheet forged with painstaking effort and soaked in sweat — in the first half of the year, Liupanshui's gross regional product reached 87.166 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.5%, with a growth rate higher than the national and provincial averages.
　　Since the beginning of this year, Liupanshui has consistently taken high-quality development as the overarching principle, focused on the "Four News" to spearhead the "Four Modernizations," and implemented in detail the "1+3" key tasks, with the city's economy developing toward "new," "solid," and "high."
　　On May 26, the first phase No. 1 coke oven of the Guizhou Meijin "Coal—Coke—Hydrogen" comprehensive utilization demonstration project — a major project in Guizhou Province with a total investment of about 10 billion yuan, located within Liuzhi Special District — was put into trial production with feeding, marking the project's official transition from construction to production. One month after commissioning, it produced 52,000 tons of coke, with an output value of 110 million yuan.
　　On June 29, Unit 2 of the Guizhou Panjiang Xinguang 2×660 MW coal-fired power generation project, located in Xinguang Village, Dashan Town, Panzhou City, successfully passed the 168-hour trial operation and, together with Unit 1, which was commissioned in January this year, was put into commercial operation. The project thus became the ** ultra-supercritical secondary reheat thermal power project put into operation in Southwest China.
　　Not long ago, Units 1 and 2 of the heating retrofit and ultra-low emission retrofit project of the 3×200 MW units at Yemazhai Power Plant in Zhongshan District were put into commercial operation, making it the largest combined heat and power project in the province at present. After the project is fully completed, its annual power generation can reach 3.036 billion kWh, with industrial steam supply of 630 tons per hour.
　　At present, the Shuangyuan Aluminum technological upgrading and capacity replacement project, located in the Shuicheng Economic Development Zone, is advancing at full speed; the new plant buildings and workshops have basically been completed, and the 500KA electrolytic cells — the most technologically mature in the electrolytic aluminum industry — have been installed and entered the commissioning stage at the end of June. After the project is fully completed and reaches production capacity, it can produce 300,000 tons of electrolytic aluminum annually, achieve an annual output value of 6 billion yuan and annual profits and taxes of about 500 million yuan, and drive the output value of the aluminum industry chain to exceed 30 billion yuan.

This year, Liupanshui has adhered to the concept of "vigorously pursuing projects and pursuing major projects," focusing on the major engineering and key projects being implemented, carrying out the Project Breakthrough Year activity, and arranging a total of 437 major engineering and key projects (including 240 at the provincial level), with a total investment of 388.474 billion yuan and an annual investment target of 41.56 billion yuan.

As of June 30, Liupanshui's major engineering and key projects had completed an investment of 23.252 billion yuan (provincial directly administered and cross-city/prefecture projects completed an investment of 4.978 billion yuan), accounting for 55.95% of the annual investment target, successfully completing the target task of "more than half the time elapsed, more than half the task completed."
　　Data show that in the first half of the year, the 58 major engineering and key projects in Liuzhi Special District completed an investment of 2.732 billion yuan, accounting for 52.62% of the annual investment target; the 135 projects in Panzhou City completed an investment of 5.148 billion yuan, accounting for 61.58% of the annual investment target; the 89 projects in Shuicheng District completed an investment of 4.007 billion yuan, accounting for 57.5% of the annual investment target; the 77 projects in Zhongshan District completed an investment of 3.449 billion yuan, accounting for 62.41% of the annual investment target; the 30 projects in Liupanshui High-tech Zone completed an investment of 1.29 billion yuan, accounting for 52.06% of the annual investment target; and the 48 municipal directly administered and cross-city/district projects completed an investment of 6.626 billion yuan, accounting for 50.84% of the annual investment target.
