In 2024, Huangzhong District of Xining City is implementing beautiful and harmonious rural construction projects in 36 villages across 7 townships, divided into three categories: 2 beautiful and livable villages, 18 improvement and upgrading villages, and 16 basically tidy villages. The project has been fully under construction since mid-July and is expected to be completed by the end of October.
　　Walking into Huashan Village, Shangxinzhuang Town, Huangzhong District, an asphalt road about 5 meters wide is being paved at the entrance to the village.
　　"This year, through everyone's efforts, our village has opened a camping base. Once these roads are built, they will attract more tourists to visit us," said Wang Qijun, director of the village committee of Huashan Village, Shangxinzhuang Town, Huangzhong District.
　　Huashan Village sits at the foot of Laji Mountain. Previously, the villagers' main sources of income were labor export and livestock farming. In the early summer of 2024, the village "two committees" seized the opportunity of rural tourism and, relying on the village's natural advantages, opened a rural "camping base" in the village's idle areas, allowing villagers to make use of natural resources and live off the mountains and water.
　　As the rural environment becomes more and more beautiful, there will be more and more channels to increase income and become prosperous. Since the beginning of this year, the beautiful and harmonious rural construction projects in Huangzhong District have advanced rapidly. Huashan Village seized the opportunity and secured project funding of 800,000 yuan for road widening, asphalt paving, drainage, and other projects.
　　"The implementation of the beautiful and harmonious rural construction project has not only driven the development of the camping base, but also driven the independent economic development of local residents. The sale of grass-fed beef and mutton and free-range eggs has greatly increased the villagers' income," Ma Fuqiang, a villager of Huashan Village, told reporters.
　　"Thank you to the government for its care and concern for us. As elderly people, there is nowhere to go to work, so we work at the camping base in our own village. We can earn 2,400 yuan every month, and seeing a doctor and buying medicine are no longer a problem," said Qiao Jincai, a villager of Huashan Village.
　　Walking into Xinping Village, Xibao Town, Huangzhong District, the construction team for the village's river channel improvement project is stepping up construction, carrying out river channel improvement through dredging, bank slope improvement, and mortar rubble retaining walls.
　　Zhou Guangtuan, director of the village committee of Xinping Village, told reporters, "River channel improvement is key. The beautiful and harmonious rural project implemented in our village this year mainly addresses the villagers' urgent difficulties and concerns. The total project investment is 2.4 million yuan, of which 1.6 million yuan is mainly used for river channel improvement. Through the improvement, the river channel's ability to defend against floods will be further enhanced, and the main road into the village will also be wider and safer."
　　"Part of the project involved hillside slope protection, mainly because the road is narrow during the rainy season and flood prevention during the rainy season was a concern. What is being implemented now is river channel improvement, since there are relatively large hidden risks in the river channel during heavy rain, and finally road widening. This project has been well received by the local people," introduced Zhou Guangtuan, director of the village committee of Xinping Village.
　　In recent days, staff from the New Rural Construction Service Center of Huangzhong District have visited the villages covered by the 2024 beautiful and harmonious rural projects many times to inspect on site the infrastructure, construction progress, and current industrial development of each village, urge the construction units to ensure project progress and quality, and communicate in depth with village "two committees" cadres, Party members, and the masses to listen to the difficulties and problems of each project village.
　　It is reported that since the beginning of this year, the New Rural Construction Service Center of Huangzhong District has communicated and coordinated with the district's Development and Reform, Rural Revitalization, Housing and Urban-Rural Development, Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Transportation, Water Resources, and other departments, integrating 20 various agriculture-related projects and consolidating 110 million yuan in funds, involving 19 villages covered by beautiful and harmonious rural construction projects.
