The Liaocheng Heat-to-Jinan long-distance heating project has now entered a critical construction milestone—the Yellow River crossing heating tunnel has completed the main structure construction of the launch shaft, achieving the launching and tunneling operation of the shield machine.

It is understood that the Liaocheng Heat-to-Jinan Yellow River crossing tunnel is divided into south and north lines, located in Changqing District of Jinan City and the Jinan Start-up Area for Growth Drivers Transformation respectively. Among them, the south line crossing tunnel is approximately 4.8 kilometers long, and the north line crossing tunnel is approximately 2.1 kilometers long. Once completed, they will become the first and second dedicated heating tunnels crossing the Yellow River in the lower reaches of the Yellow River. At present, the south line crossing tunnel is in the stage of main structure construction and shield tunnel excavation.

The Liaocheng Heat-to-Jinan long-distance heating project spans the three cities of Liaocheng, Dezhou, and Jinan, and is a comprehensive livelihood project that utilizes waste heat from power plants for heating. It is planned to be fully completed by the end of 2025, with a total investment of nearly 50 billion yuan in the coal-to-clean-energy substitution project. Once completed, the long-distance heating pipeline network, with a total length of more than 130 kilometers, will span the three cities of Liaocheng, Dezhou, and Jinan, transmitting heat from Liaocheng's heat sources to the urban area of Jinan. It is of great significance for improving Jinan's heating capacity, improving air quality, and promoting green, low-carbon, and high-quality economic and social development.
