1. Tongren–Jishou Railway
The water and soil conservation plan and environmental impact assessment for the newly built Tongren–Jishou Railway, surveyed and designed by the China Railway Fifth Survey and Design Institute Group (CRFSDI), recently passed technical review by the Ministry of Water Resources and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, respectively.
To advance the project's environmental impact assessment and water and soil conservation through technical review, the CRFSDI project team engaged early, using bridges in place of roadbed and combining permanent and temporary works to reduce land occupation; reducing spoil at the source and utilizing it as a resource to cut engineering spoil;
and adopting bridge-tunnel combinations to pass through environmentally sensitive areas along the alignment, embedding environmental protection concepts throughout the design process and laying a solid foundation for subsequent preliminary design approval and commencement by year-end. (CRFSDI report, August 7)

2. Quzhou–Huangshan High-Speed Railway
For the Quzhou–Huangshan Railway, reporting and coordination have been carried out with the National Development and Reform Commission, China State Railway Group and other relevant departments; the Quzhou–Huangshan Railway scheme currently remains in the draft of the medium- and long-term railway network plan. (Kaihua County Transport Bureau, July 24)

3. Xiantao–Honghu–Jianli Railway
According to an investigation by the Jianli City Development and Reform Bureau, as required by the Provincial Development and Reform Commission, further in-depth study is underway on the line standards and alignment of the Xiantao–Honghu–Jianli Railway. (Reply, July 24)

4. High-speed rail introduction at Shiyan East Station
The proposal to plan and build a connecting line for high-speed rail at Shiyan East Station is highly necessary. To reserve conditions for railway access toward Shiyan–Ankang, Nanyang and other directions, we have commissioned relevant survey and design units to study the reconstruction of the Shiyan East hub and have produced a study report.
As railways are major national transport infrastructure projects, we are actively reporting to and coordinating with China State Railway Group and other departments to seek support in higher-level planning and strive to launch the Shiyan East Station hub reconstruction project as soon as possible. (Reply from Shiyan Municipal Development and Reform Commission, July 26)

5. Wuwei–Zhangye Section of the Lanzhou–Zhangye High-Speed Railway
On August 7, a tender announcement was published for the "Lanzhou–Zhangye Third and Fourth Line Railway Wuwei–Zhangye Section Project: Preparation of Basic Application Materials for Occupied Forest Land, Grassland, Wetlands and Nature Reserves and Approval Services for Administrative Licensing Procedures," as the project accelerates toward its year-end commencement target.
According to the announcement: the newly built Wuwei–Zhangye section of the Lanzhou–Zhangye Third and Fourth Line Railway has a total length of 244.044 km, of which 24.871 km is within Wuwei City, 111.29 km within Jinchang City, and 107.879 km within Zhangye City.
The line will include four new stations—Zhuwangpu, Jinchang South, Jiling West and Shandan North—plus two existing connection stations, Wuwei East and Zhangye West.
In the Wuwei area, a new connecting line between the Lanzhou–Xinjiang Railway and the Lanzhou–Zhangye Third and Fourth Line Railway will be built, 12.6 km long. New double-track bridges total 105.927 km across 58 structures, and tunnels total 3.964 km across 1 structure.

6. Nanyang–Shiyan and Shanghai–Taiyuan High-Speed Railways
The new version of the medium- and long-term railway network plan is being organized and compiled by the National Development and Reform Commission, the National Railway Administration, China State Railway Group and other units. The draft plan has now been completed, and the National Development and Reform Commission is conducting in-depth research on planning layout, alignment schemes, financial support, environmental protection and other aspects.
During the planning process, Henan Province has strengthened communication and coordination with the National Development and Reform Commission and other relevant departments, actively seeking to include more railway projects—such as Nanyang–Shiyan and Anyang (Linzhou)–Puyang–Heze—in the new version of the plan.
Next, the Provincial Development and Reform Commission will, in accordance with relevant national requirements and under the arrangements of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government, continue to advance the planning of major railway projects and efforts to secure their inclusion in the plan.
