Recently, the launch ceremony for the "KeChuang No. 2" shield machine for the downline of the shield-driven section from Kangnan Road Station to Zhangjiang Station of Bid 3 of Shanghai Metro Line 21 was grandly held at Kangnan Road Station, marking that the project has officially completed the full deployment of the shield machine.
The single-line section from Zhangjiang Station to Kangnan Road Station has a total length of 1.98 kilometers. The section tunnel is constructed by the shield method, and the section structure is a circular shield tunnel with staggered-joint segment lining. The "KeChuang No. 2" shield machine launched this time has an overall length of 90 meters and an excavation diameter of 6.78 meters. It will successively pass beneath important locations such as river systems, road bridge piles, and maglev elevated bridge piers. Among them, the most challenging is passing beneath the maglev section, where the safety risks of undercrossing and side-crossing are high, and the requirements are extremely stringent for construction precision, ground settlement control, and vibration impact during construction.
To ensure smooth shield tunneling and safe crossing of the maglev line, the Fourth Branch organized the participating units to actively integrate resources and concentrate on tackling key problems, fully leveraging the professional experience accumulated by the participating units in shield construction. First, they conducted detailed surveys of the geological structure, stratum distribution, geotechnical characteristics, groundwater level, and other conditions along the section; second, they focused on investigating the maglev track structure form, foundation type, track precision requirements, operating status, and relevant technical parameters; third, they comprehensively assessed the possible impacts on surrounding buildings, underground pipelines, roads, and bridges; fourth, they scientifically established a monitoring system, planned in advance and selected monitoring point locations, and set up a remote informatized shield monitoring system to achieve comprehensive real-time backstage monitoring.
