On August 7, after 17 hours of concrete pouring, the first base slab of the No. 3-1 shield launching shaft of the Shenzhen-Dongguan Tunnel of the Shenzhen-Jiangmen High-Speed Railway, constructed by China Railway Sixth Group, was completed, marking a phased breakthrough in the project's construction and also opening the prelude to the main structure construction.

After the Shenzhen-Jiangmen High-Speed Railway is completed, the original 2-hour travel time between Shenzhen and Jiangmen will be shortened to 40 minutes, making industrial integration and factor flow between the two places more convenient. It is of great significance for strengthening the connection between the Pearl River Delta region and western Guangdong and promoting the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

According to reports, the No. 3-1 working shaft of the Shenzhen-Jiangmen High-Speed Railway is 123.5 meters long and 22 to 26 meters deep. The first base slab poured this time has a structural size of 23 meters long and 21 meters wide, with a slab thickness of 1.4 meters and a total concrete volume of 716 cubic meters.

To ensure the smooth completion of this first-piece construction and the timely completion of the milestone schedule, the project team strictly implemented safety and quality management requirements and strictly controlled the on-site process flow, repeatedly checking and verifying each procedure of the first base slab, including waterproofing, steel reinforcement, and formwork, to ensure that all conditions met construction requirements. In addition, during the concrete pouring process, on-site technical guidance was well carried out and difficulties were resolved, making every effort to ensure the quality of concrete pouring and successfully completing the first base slab pouring.
