Recently, the Sangyuanzi Yellow River Bridge, the first two-way eight-lane Yellow River bridge in the province, began its handover inspection, marking that the construction of this cable-stayed bridge with separated decks and jointed towers—the largest span of its kind in a domestic seismic zone of intensity 8 or above—has entered a new stage.

Construction of the Sangyuanzi Yellow River Bridge started on February 10, 2020. The construction personnel overcame challenges such as the bridge spanning the natural barrier of the Yellow River and the perilous Sangyuanzi mountainous area, and developed the largest-tonnage metal energy dissipator between towers in China, viscous dampers, and a steel truss–UHPC lightweight composite structure. At present, inspections of main indicators such as bridge appearance and physical testing have been carried out, providing relevant technical data and scoring basis for the bridge's handover acceptance; subsequently, bridge load tests will be conducted according to the construction progress.
