Recently, Arab News reported that the world's largest engineering project, the US$500 billion NEOM smart city project in Saudi Arabia, has reached an important milestone: the underground parking lot and light rail system have been completed. The report highlighted that this phased progress was achieved efficiently with the help of 10 large-tonnage rotary drilling rigs from XCMG.
Arab News reported:

In the report "NEOM Completes Major Milestone: Underground Parking and Light Rail System Completed," it was noted that the construction phase of the underground parking lot and light rail system in Saudi Arabia's US$500 billion NEOM supersized city project was accelerated with the help of 10 large-tonnage rotary drilling rigs from XCMG.

The 10 XCMG large-tonnage rotary drilling rigs at the project site include 4 XR500E, 2 XR600E, 2 XR320D and 2 XR400D rigs, with pile foundation construction depths of 60 to 90 meters and diameters of 2 to 2.5 meters.
Despite being located in a desert with complex geological conditions, the XCMG rotary drilling rigs performed with ease, completing an average of 3 piles per day and speeding up project construction.

At the press conference, it was further noted that the XCMG XR600E is the largest-tonnage drilling rig used in the NEOM project and also the largest model China has exported. Although it arrived one month later than other equipment, it completed its task two weeks ahead of schedule, fully demonstrating the efficiency and reliability of XCMG equipment.

This time, not only did Arab News single out XCMG, but nearly 800 overseas media outlets, including AP NEWS and Yahoo! Finance, also spoke highly of XCMG's outstanding performance at NEOM.

It is reported that the four main planning regions of NEOM, consisting of The Line, Sindalah, Trojena and Oxagon, include a tourism area that is also expected to open to tourists in 2024, and 95% of NEOM will be designated as a nature reserve.
