Recently, the right tube of the Guchengshan Extra-Long Tunnel, a key control project of the Zhangjiajie-Guanzhuang Expressway within Yuanling County, Huaihua City, was successfully holed through. This marks another major milestone victory for Section 3 of the Zhang-Guan Expressway following the breakthrough of the tunnel's left tube on May 13 this year, laying a solid foundation for half-width and eventual full-line opening of the expressway.

The Guchengshan Tunnel has a total length of 6,364 meters, starting at Wutongmiao Village, Qinglang Township, Yuanling County and ending at Yangjiaxi Village, Guanzhuang Town. It is designed as a separated left-and-right tube tunnel and is classified as an extra-long tunnel, with a one-way longitudinal gradient of 1.3%, a maximum buried depth of 438.6 meters, and a minimum tunnel body buried depth of 43 meters.

Once completed, the Zhang-Guan Expressway will serve as a rapid north-south corridor connecting our city and Huaihua City, effectively enhancing the comprehensive north-south transportation capacity of northwestern Hunan and holding great significance for accelerating the high-quality economic and social development of northwestern Hunan.
