According to China Railway Shanghai Group Co., Ltd., on July 30, the erection of the last section of anchored catenary wire between Shanghai Hongqiao Station and Shanghai Songjiang Station on the Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou High-Speed Railway was completed, marking the completion of catenary erection along the entire line of the project and laying a solid foundation for the next stage of static acceptance and joint commissioning and testing. The catenary is the "main artery" that transmits electrical energy to high-speed trains. During travel, the train obtains electrical energy through contact between the pantograph on the roof and the catenary wire. On the Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou High-Speed Railway, catenary ** pole and support erection began on December 23, 2022, and over 525 days a total of 7,237 supports were erected; the first contact wire was erected on April 4 this year, and over 118 days a total of 591 wire-kilometers of catenary wire were erected.

The Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou High-Speed Railway starts from Shanghai Hongqiao Station, passes through Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, and ends at Huzhou Station in Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province. The line is about 163.8 kilometers long, with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour, and has 8 stations: Shanghai Hongqiao, Shanghai Songjiang, Liantang, Suzhou South, Shengze, Huzhou Nanxun, Huzhou East, and Huzhou. Except for Shanghai Hongqiao and Huzhou Stations, the others are all newly built station buildings.

The Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou High-Speed Railway is a major project for infrastructure interconnection among Shanghai, Suzhou, and Huzhou, and is also a key project for high-speed rail network connectivity, network supplementation, and chain strengthening in the Yangtze River Delta. After completion and operation, it will further improve the regional road network layout, effectively relieve transport pressure on the Shanghai-Nanjing and Shanghai-Hangzhou railway corridors, optimize the layout of the Shanghai railway hub, and be of great significance for promoting economic and social development along the line and the high-quality integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.
