To accelerate the development of the green building materials industry and drive the transformation and upgrading of the building materials sector, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development (MOHURD) and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) recently jointly established a Coordination Group for the Promotion and Application of Green Building Materials to work together on promoting the use of green building materials.

　　It is understood that the main responsibilities of the Coordination Group include five areas. First, strengthen collaboration between the housing and urban-rural development departments and the industry and information technology departments, implement relevant national industrial development plans, accelerate work related to the promotion and application of green building materials in the construction industry, and advance the transformation and upgrading of the building materials industry. Second, study and formulate policies and measures to accelerate the promotion and application of green building materials, and carry out the formulation and revision of product standards and engineering construction standards and specifications. Third, formulate an action plan for the promotion and application of green building materials and organize its implementation. Strengthen contact with relevant national departments and supervise the work of relevant local management departments (institutions). Fourth, organize and carry out pilot work and demonstration projects for the promotion and application of green building materials. Establish a public service platform for green building materials and issue a catalog for the promotion and application of green building materials. Strengthen publicity of policies for the promotion and application of green building materials and training of technical personnel. Fifth, strengthen coordination and cooperation, technical exchanges, and information communication among relevant government departments, associations, enterprises, and other units in the promotion and application of green building materials. Sixth, organize research on key topics in the production and application of green building materials, and carry out exchanges and cooperation with relevant foreign departments and institutions in the field of promoting and applying green building materials.
