According to a Weibo post by "Shanghai Metro shmetro," at 18:47 on May 23, on a downward escalator from the concourse to the platform at Dashijie Station on Line 8, a male passenger's shoe became caught in the escalator, causing the escalator's operation to be obstructed and resulting in deformation of the steps. The escalator's safety protection system immediately initiated a protective shutdown, and station staff promptly implemented on-site protective measures, guided passengers, and reminded them to watch their step; no one was injured during the process. At the same time, the station immediately notified the manufacturer to carry out escalator maintenance.
