On May 22, the Taozhi'ao Tunnel in Section 2 of the Guangxi Cangzhao Expressway Project was successfully holed through. The tunnel has a total length of 4.58 km and is the longest tunnel in the section. With this, both extra-long tunnels in Section 2 have been holed through, marking the achievement of an important milestone toward the project's goal of completion and opening to traffic in 2025.

The Taozhi'ao Tunnel is a key project connecting Shuikou Town and Fuluo Town in Hezhou City, and is also a controlling works along the entire Cangzhao Expressway. Once the full line is completed and opened to traffic, the travel time between the two places will be shortened from the original 3-hour detour to 15 minutes.
