Recently, it was learned from the APTJ-2 bid project department of the Anpan Expressway that the excavation of the Luohanpo Tunnel entrance, constructed by China Railway Seventh Group, has exceeded 1,000 meters, accounting for 35% of the total designed length of 2,860 meters. This also marks the continued acceleration of construction of this key project within the Anpan Expressway.

It is understood that the Luohanpo Tunnel is located in Puding County, Anshun City, Guizhou Province, and is one of the key projects of the Anpan Expressway. The tunnel has a total length of 2,860 meters and is designed as a separated double-tube tunnel, with the left tube 1,426 meters long and the right tube 1,434 meters long, and a maximum buried depth of 188 meters. The entire tunnel section consists mostly of Class III, IV, and V surrounding rock, with strong karst development and fractured rock masses, which can easily lead to rockfall and collapse. In addition, the exit section of the tunnel contains coal seams and is a high-gas tunnel, posing considerable construction difficulty and safety risks.

To ensure safe tunneling, the construction party adopted a variety of high-tech methods, using advanced geological forecasting techniques to conduct comprehensive analysis and judgment of geological conditions, identifying the location, nature, and scale of faults in advance, strengthening monitoring and measurement, and overcoming various adverse geological conditions inside the tunnel, thereby ensuring controllable safety and quality of tunnel excavation and orderly progress of the construction schedule.

In the next phase of work, all project participants will continue to strengthen on-site management and control of tunnel construction and complete all construction tasks safely, with high quality, and efficiently.

It is reported that the Anpan Expressway has a total length of 130.8 kilometers and adopts a six-lane expressway standard across the entire line, with a design speed of 100 kilometers per hour. The construction of the project will further densify the expressway network in western Guizhou and enhance Guizhou's status as an important land transportation hub in southwestern China, playing an important role in driving economic and social development along the route.
