Recently, the Zhuhai Municipal Development and Reform Bureau released the "Zhuhai 2024 Key Construction Project Plan" (hereinafter referred to as the "Plan").

　　In 2024, Zhuhai has arranged a total of 319 municipal key construction projects, with a total investment of 382.297 billion yuan and an annual planned investment of 47.8 billion yuan, accounting for 26.8% of fixed asset investment.

　　From the perspective of project construction stages, in 2024 Zhuhai has a total of 69 projects put into operation, with a total investment of 67.797 billion yuan; 192 continued construction projects, with a total investment of 251.982 billion yuan; and 58 newly started projects, with a total investment of 62.518 billion yuan. In addition, there are 53 preliminary preparatory projects, with an estimated total investment of 234.576 billion yuan.

　　From the perspective of project types, in the field of building a modern industrial system with greater international competitiveness, Zhuhai has arranged a total of 137 engineering projects in 2024, with a total investment of 136.644 billion yuan and an annual planned investment of 19.863 billion yuan.

　　Among the industrial pillar projects, the Gikena Electronic Atomization Technology Equipment Industrialization Project is expected to be completed in December 2024, with a total investment of 5.5 billion yuan.

　　Several 5.0 factory buildings and supporting facilities are also making new progress, such as the Sanxi Huafa Intelligent Manufacturing Port Project No. 3 and the first phase of the Fushan Industrial City High-Standard Factory Building Project, which are expected to be completed in June 2024.

　　Also expected to be completed by the end of this year are the Xiangzhou Science and Technology Innovation Center, with a total investment of 2.897 billion yuan, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Logistics Project, with a total investment of 1.064 billion yuan.

　　In addition, the Botai Semiconductor Industrial Park Project, with a total investment of 1.5 billion yuan, will start construction in July and is expected to be completed in January 2027; the Gallium Arsenide Semiconductor Wafer Production Line Project, with a total investment of 3.387 billion yuan, will start construction in November 2024 and is expected to be completed in January 2030.

　　In the field of continuously improving people's well-being, Zhuhai has arranged a total of 80 projects in 2024, with a total investment of 65.916 billion yuan and an annual planned investment of 11.113 billion yuan.

　　In terms of education, the Science and Engineering Complex of Beijing Normal University Zhuhai Campus is expected to be completed by the end of 2024, which will further improve the teaching and research office environment of the university's Zhuhai Campus, meet the research needs of high-end talent, and promote the overall development of the Zhuhai Campus. The new campus of Hefeng Middle School in Doumen District, Zhuhai, and Fengshan Middle School, Tongchang Middle School, Zaobei Middle School, Shihua Road Middle School and others in Xiangzhou District will also be completed this year, further improving Zhuhai's educational resources. In addition, the completion node for **Xiangshan Middle School, the first public high school in the Beiwei area of the High-tech Zone**, is December 2025.

　　In terms of medical care, the renovation and expansion project of the Xiangzhou District People's Hospital in Zhuhai will be officially completed this year, at which time the hospital's medical hardware facilities and service capacity will be greatly improved.

　　In the field of comprehensively improving urban functional quality, Zhuhai has arranged a total of 66 projects in 2024, with a total investment of 161.932 billion yuan and an annual planned investment of 14.117 billion yuan.

　　In terms of urban construction, the Huangmaohai Cross-Sea Channel is expected to be completed and opened to traffic by the end of this year, which will greatly shorten the travel time between Hong Kong and Macao and western Guangdong; the Renmin Road Rapid Upgrade Project (underground tunnels at the nodes of Renmin Road intersecting Jingye Road, Santaishi Road, and Hongshan Road) will start construction in June, which can efficiently connect the fast traffic flows of Jinqin Express Line and Xingye Express Line, increase the traffic relief capacity of Renmin Road, enhance the passage function of some sections of Santaishi Road, improve intersection traffic efficiency, balance road network traffic flow, and alleviate traffic congestion; the newly built project from Heibaimian Jiangjun Mountain Tunnel to Xianghai Bridge (Phase I) will also start construction in September, and Zhuhai's rapid traffic road network will be further improved.

　　In terms of railways, according to the plan, the Hengqin to Zhuhai Airport section of the intercity railway from Zhuhai urban area to Zhuhai Airport will be completed by the end of this year; the Zhuhai Central Station (Hezhou) Hub Station City Integration Project will also start construction in December, with a total investment of 6.551 billion yuan; the Xiangshan to Gongbei section of the Nansha to Zhuhai (Zhongshan) Intercity Railway is expected to start construction in June. As rail construction continues to advance, Zhuhai's roads to other cities in the Greater Bay Area are becoming increasingly connected.
