在施工现场，一车车基层混合料缓缓倒入摊铺机料斗，一段平整的水稳结构层呈现在眼前。目测现场混合料，表面颜色均匀、色泽亮丽、平整适宜，搭接处紧密、平顺，接缝顺畅。经质检人员初步检测，各项数据符合施工规范要求。
此次试验段在宜昌段土建五标K124+720~K125+220左幅进行，长度为500米，结构形式为20厘米2.5MPa水泥稳定级配碎石底基层。在此次施工中，路面二标采用了两种不同施工工艺进行试验，目的是为了检验项目部的施工组织与协调能力，同时对配合比设计进行验证，确定适宜的施工、碾压工艺及松铺系数等技术参数，为下阶段规模施工提供依据。
此次试验段的顺利摊铺，标志着宜昌段由施工准备阶段转向了主体工程施工阶段，也为下阶段规模生产提供了宝贵经验。
