On May 7, following the launch of the "Kunpeng" dual-mode shield tunneling machine, the "Honghu" dual-mode shield tunneling machine also embarked on its second tunneling journey, commencing the left-line tunneling task for the section from Chongqing Road Station to Metro Building Station, marking that the section from Chongqing Road Station to Metro Building Station of Qingdao Metro Line 5 has entered the dual-line tunneling stage.

After successfully completing the tunneling task for the section from Yanjiashan Station to Chongqing Road Station, the two dual-mode shield tunneling machines "Kunpeng" and "Honghu" took a short break, then were pushed through Chongqing Road Station without excavation, and subsequently began this tunneling task.

To ensure the smooth launch of the "Honghu" shield tunneling machine and smooth subsequent construction, the project team coordinated and communicated with the equipment manufacturer on multiple occasions, assessed the condition of the shield tunneling machine, carried out targeted professional maintenance, and restored the machine to its optimal condition. At the same time, the team strictly controlled key links such as segment entry acceptance, transportation, waterproofing adhesion, and assembly, avoiding damage during segment assembly, improving the quality of the completed tunnel, and fully ensuring safe and smooth tunneling by the shield machine. The team gave full play to the role of the "two-entry" personnel: Party members and management personnel participated together with labor team leaders in team management, forged close ties with team members, enhanced team members' sense of ownership, built an excellent team, and cultivated a group of new-type industrial workers.

Next, the project department will focus on the goal of "building a world-class metro," adhere to the "1+6" goal system, continuously improve the level of team building, stimulate the vitality of frontline teams, and complete all construction tasks in the section with high quality, contributing to the early realization of dual-line breakthrough for the section from Chongqing Road Station to Metro Building Station of Qingdao Metro Line 5.

Qingdao Metro Line 5 starts at Maidao Station and ends at Yunling Road Station, with a total length of about 32.6 kilometers. It connects the three districts of Shinan, Shibei, and Laoshan, has 27 stations in total, and links 8 metro lines. It features a typical "C"-shaped loop characteristic and is a backbone rail transit line in the main urban area. After opening to traffic, it can effectively relieve the congested traffic network and improve Qingdao's traffic environment and residents' travel conditions.
