On September 27, 2013, the Jinjiang 2013 Equipment Manufacturing Welder Skills Competition officially kicked off at Fujian Jingong Machinery Co., Ltd. The event was jointly hosted by the Jinjiang Economic and Trade Bureau, Jinjiang Federation of Trade Unions, Jinjiang Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, and Jinjiang Equipment Manufacturing Association, organized by the Jinjiang Equipment Manufacturing Trade Union, and co-organized by Fujian Jingong Machinery Co., Ltd. and Jinjiang Anhai Vocational Secondary School. Dozens of contestants from equipment manufacturing enterprises across the city participated in the competition.

In line with the principles of openness, fairness, and impartiality, each unit recommended 1-3 outstanding contestants to participate. The organizing committee distributed the skills competition outline and rules to all contestants one month in advance for training and preparation, and the Quanzhou Human Resources and Social Security Bureau distributed the theoretical examination outline to contestants one week in advance. The competition calculated contestants' total scores based on 70% on-site skills competition results and 30% closed-book theoretical examination results. Three national vocational skills appraisal (electric welder) assessors served as judges. Using the participating contestants' enterprises as units, three enterprise team leaders were randomly selected by drawing lots to serve as competition review supervisors, participating in supervision throughout the entire process to demonstrate fairness.

The competition offered one first prize, two second prizes, and three third prizes, with corresponding certificates and bonuses awarded. At the same time, the first-prize winner was awarded the "Jinjiang May 1st Labor Medal" by the Municipal Federation of Trade Unions; the first- and second-prize winners were also awarded the title of "Jinjiang Technical Expert" by the Jinjiang Human Resources and Social Security Bureau; those scoring above 60 in both theory and skills were issued the Level 4 National Vocational Qualification Certificate for Electric Welders.

After a day of intense on-site skills competition and theoretical examinations, the competition concluded successfully. Ma Yunkun from Fujian Weisheng Machinery Development Co., Ltd. won the first prize and was awarded the "Jinjiang May 1st Labor Medal" by the Jinjiang Federation of Trade Unions.
