Borehole drilling construction is underway at Chongqing Station on the northern extension of Rail Transit Line 18

　　On the northern extension of Rail Transit Line 18, vehicles shuttle and machinery operates efficiently at the construction site, with 11 work sites running at full capacity, of which 8 stations have entered the main structure construction phase, and a total of 72 large machines and equipment such as excavators, loaders and gantry cranes have been mobilized across the line.

　　At present, the first-phase cover slab construction for the main structure of Caiyuan Road Station on the northern extension of Rail Transit Line 18 has been completed, and the second-phase retaining structure construction is underway; the remaining 7 stations are carrying out main structure excavation, support and lining construction; the section from the starting point to Xiaoshizi Station and the section from Chongqing Station to Caiyuan Road Station are carrying out main line excavation and support construction; the section from Daping West Station to the terminus has achieved twin-tube breakthrough; and the section from Qixinggang Station to Chongqing Station and the section from Huangshaxi Station to Daping West Station are carrying out twin-tube tunneling.

　　The entire northern extension of Rail Transit Line 18 is located in Yuzhong District, starting at Xiaoshizi Station and ending at Fuhua Road Station (exclusive), with a total length of 10.61 kilometers, all of which is underground, and a total of 8 stations, 3 of which are transfer stations. Once the line is completed, it will further densify the rail transit network in Yuzhong District, drive the formation of industrial cluster zones along the route, fill the gap in rail transit coverage in the lower half of the Yuzhong Peninsula, and effectively alleviate traffic congestion in areas such as Caiyuanba and Daping.
