Recently, it was learned from the construction department that multiple roads in the Canal New City area of Hefei's major construction projects, including Baguaquan Road and Sanfangying Road,Engineering projectshave been awarded and are about to start construction. Once implemented, they are expected to densify the road network around major arterial roads such as Xinqiao Avenue and Wangjiang West Road, further facilitating public travel.

　　To further improve the road network and enhance travel convenience, the awarding of contracts has been completed for four road projects under the city's major construction projects: Baguaquan Road (Xinqiao Avenue–Beifenxi Road) and Sanfangying Road (Wangjiang West Road–former Jiuxiangquan Road) in Canal New City, as well as Wanze Road (Yujing Road–Shushanhu Road) and Shiniu Road (Wanze Road–Shufeng Road) in the Shushan Economic Development Zone. Construction is about to begin.

　　Among them, Baguaquan Road (Xinqiao Avenue–Beifenxi Road) is an urban branch road with a planned red line width of 18 m and a length of approximately 1,248 m. Sanfangying Road (Wangjiang West Road–former Jiuxiangquan Road) is an urban branch road with a planned red line width of 18 m and a length of approximately 500 m. The main construction content includes roads, drainage, landscaping, traffic, signal monitoring, utility tunnels, lighting, electrical (civil works), and supporting water supply pipelines. The projects are expected to start in April this year and be completed by the end of the year.

　　A project manager from Hefei Shuxinyuan Investment Co., Ltd. introduced that as the construction of these two roads in Canal New City progresses, it will supplement and improve the "three vertical and four horizontal" main road network of Canal New City, densify the municipal road layout around major arterial roads such as Xinqiao Avenue and Wangjiang West Road, help further clarify the road network of Canal New City, enhance regional accessibility, and improve the city's carrying capacity.

　　Wanze Road (Yujing Road–Shushanhu Road) is an urban branch road with a planned red line width of 24 m and a length of approximately 420 m; Shiniu Road (Wanze Road–Shufeng Road) is an urban branch road with a planned red line width of 30 m and a length of approximately 331 m. The projects are expected to start in March this year and be completed in September.

　　The two roads are located east of Siji Huahai. Once completed, they will connect the existing Shiniu Road and Wanze Road, improve traffic convenience in the area, further support infrastructure construction in the eastern zone of the Shushan Economic Development Zone, ease residents' travel pressure, and improve public wellbeing.

　　Important arterial road supporting iFlytek Town is scheduled to be completed by the end of the month
　　It was also learned that in the "iFlytek Town" area of Hefei's University of Science and Technology Silicon Valley, the Phase I supporting road construction project of iFlytek Town in Hefei High-tech Zone has made new progress.
　　The project mainly serves the iFlytek Town area, with a total investment of 459 million yuan, and is an important livelihood project. The Phase I supporting road project includes a total of 8 roads, among which Changyan Road, as an important urban arterial road, connects the two major arteries of Wangjiang West Road and Xiyou Road from north to south.
　　Project personnel introduced that asphalt paving has basically been completed, and traffic, lighting poles, and landscaping are successively entering the site for construction, with all construction planned to be completed by the end of March 2024. "After the project is completed, it will provide great convenience for traffic travel and project construction in iFlytek Town and surrounding plots."
　　Once the Phase I supporting road project is fully completed, it will help improve regional traffic supporting facilities and support the construction of the functional carrying area of "USTC Silicon Valley".
