On March 3, the left tube of the Guduiding Tunnel on the Cangzhao Expressway in Guangxi was successfully holed through, making it the **extra-long tunnel to achieve breakthrough along the entire expressway.

The Guduiding Tunnel starts in Fengqing Village, Beituo Town, Zhaoping County and ends in Nanxing Village, Wujiang Town, with a total length of 4.2 km. It is an extra-long separated tunnel and was constructed by China Construction Fifth Engineering Division. The construction team overcame numerous difficulties such as waterlogged mud with embedded rock, strongly weathered rock, and fault zones, and formulated targeted construction plans. The tunnel was built using the New Austrian Tunnelling Method, and rapid, effective, and stable double-layer support was used to ensure safety during construction, laying a solid foundation for the successful breakthrough.

The Cangzhao Expressway is a pilot project for Guangxi's implementation of the national "Transportation Powerhouse" strategy. It connects seamlessly with Guangdong Province's planned Huadu–Fengkai (Guangdong–Guangxi border) Expressway and links with the Heba Expressway within the region, serving as an important corridor and regional hub connecting Guangxi with Guangdong. The entire expressway is expected to be completed and opened to traffic by the end of 2025, and once completed it will be of great significance for accelerating Guangxi's integration into the "Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area."
