The reporter learned from the 2024 Dalian Transportation Work Conference held on February 29 that this year Dalian will promote high-quality development in the construction of the Northeast Asia International Shipping Center and International Logistics Center, accelerate the construction of the Northeast Land-Sea Corridor, plan and reserve 187 transportation projects with a total investment of 235.8 billion yuan, and strive to complete 11.4 billion yuan in fixed asset investment in transportation.

This year, Dalian will pursue the planning and reservation of key transportation projects with high standards and high quality, commence construction of the country's largest single-investment land-island highway project and the longest cross-sea bridge in the north—the Changhai Bridge project, accelerate the construction of the bulk grain terminal project in the Taiping Bay Port Area, the automobile terminal expansion project in the Dayaowan Port Area, and the reconstruction of No. 7 passenger berth at Dagang, start construction of the COFCO Oils supporting terminal, and complete and put into operation the supporting terminal for the Hengli polyester project at Changxing Island Port.

Dalian will formulate a policy list to accelerate high-quality port development, focus on increasing port throughput, and strive to complete 5.6 million TEU of container throughput this year, a year-on-year increase of 12%; actively open ocean-going routes to the Americas, the Middle East, India and Pakistan, and other regions, adding 5 new container routes throughout the year; smooth the land-sea corridor and build Dalian into a coastal assembly center for China-Europe freight trains; accelerate the pilot implementation of "single-document" multimodal transport, encourage innovative application of "single-document" scenarios, and achieve a 3% increase in sea-rail intermodal transport volume; enhance port collection and distribution capacity, and ensure the smooth flow of the "north grain shipped south" corridor.

To improve transportation service levels, Dalian will coordinate the integration of the subway and bus networks and open and adjust 3 bus routes; deepen the integrated development of taxis in both cruising and online-hailing modes and carry out actions to improve taxi service quality; accelerate the smart and green development of transportation, replace and convert 800 taxis to new-energy and clean-energy vehicles, actively advance the construction of infrastructure for bunkering green marine fuels such as methanol and green ammonia, and launch the intelligent bulk cargo operating system at the Dalian Port bulk grain terminal.
