It is understood that the Yan'an Road Bridge and its connecting approach works are located in Longzihu District and Huaishang District, starting in the south at the intersection of Yan'an Road and Fengyang Road, running north along Yan'an Road through Yan'an Third Lane, Guangming Street, Zhihuai Road, Changhuai Road, Yanhuai Road, and the planned Binhe South Road, then crossing the Huai River and passing through Binhe North Road, Huaishang Avenue, and Huayuan Road, and ending at the intersection of Yan'an Road and Shuangdun Road. The total length of the project route is 2,733 meters, of which the main line bridge of the Huai River Grand Bridge is 2,270 meters long. In addition, the project is designed to urban main road standards, with a main bridge speed of 60 km/h and an approach bridge speed of 50 km/h; the river-crossing section has six lanes in both directions, and the connecting approaches on both sides have four lanes in both directions.

The bridge design scheme has been determined as the "Gate of Bengbu." The details of the bridge tower shape adopt an integrated design of a gate form and a mussel form. The curved forms at the top of the cable tower are derived from the patterns on mussel shells, appearing in layered shell-like shapes, which enhance the layering of the landscape design and enrich the aesthetic experience of the cable tower. The bridge has a strong physical expression, carrying the city's cultural heritage, social character, and historical sentiment, and is highly representative. The bridge tower can also be concretized as a gate leading to Bengbu; passing through the gate, one will step toward a new century and a brand-new future.
