On February 21, the reporter learned from Chengdu City Investment Construction Group that recently, with the completion of the last section of 120 stay cables of 200 meters on the main tower, the main tower of the single-arm cable-stayed swivel bridge over the railway from the Middle Ring Road to the Third Ring Road on Shanbanqiao Road in Chengdu has been successfully capped.

　　As a key node of the Shanbanqiao Road reconstruction project, the bridge adopts a unique single-arm cable-stayed swivel design, with a span of 188 meters and a main tower 128 meters above the ground. The scale of the bridge ranks among the top in the country in the field of single-arm cable-stayed swivel bridges.

　　"After the bridge is completed, it will 'swivel' 66°, ultimately spanning ten railways including the Chengdu-Kunming and Xi'an-Chengdu passenger dedicated lines beside the Chengnan Expressway." According to the project leader of the construction unit, Chengdu City Investment Foundation Company, the bridge tower is 128 meters high and must be constructed with a tower crane. If a normal attached tower crane were used, it would cause a force tilt on the swivel bridge pier, thereby causing the swivel to fail. Through repeated research and demonstration by experts, a custom-made independent large tower crane was finally adopted.

　　"The maximum height of the tower crane is 146 meters. To ensure the safety of the independently customized tower crane, the tower crane foundation uses 8 piles of 18 meters driven into the ground as foundation piles, and a 2.2-meter-thick pile cap is set, so that its bearing capacity and anti-overturning capacity during use can be kept within the safe range to the maximum extent." The person in charge introduced that the climbing formwork platform for the main tower construction is a four-sided, three-story large enclosed steel structure, using hydraulic self-climbing formwork technology, and the height of the climbing formwork platform can rise according to the construction needs of the main tower.
