February 18, the first working day after the Spring Festival holiday, at the construction site of the Mozhai Wujiang Grand Bridge in Section 2 of the Pengyou Road of the Yuxiang Double-Track Project, the builders have already actively engaged in construction and are carrying out work on the bridge's main piers.

The Mozhai Wujiang Grand Bridge is a control project for the entire Yuxiang Double-Track Expressway, with a total length of 708 meters and a main bridge length of 602 meters. It is a four-lane, two-way low-tower cable-stayed bridge. The bridge construction site is located in the deep-cut valley of the Wujiang River, and the bridge crosses the Wujiang River in a single span. Its No. 3 main pier and No. 4 main pier are 216 meters and 185 meters high respectively, making it the ** high-pier low-tower cable-stayed bridge in Asia. The bridge construction has high technical requirements and great difficulty.

Reporters learned that in order to ensure a smooth resumption of work, the Yuxiang Double-Track Company actively organized and coordinated, keeping workers on site to celebrate the New Year and making full preparations for resuming work and production after the holiday. To ensure the construction schedule, Section 2 of Pengyou Road formulated a detailed resumption plan before the holiday and organized several resumption safety education and training sessions and special safety meetings. Up to now, all management personnel and workers in Section 2 of Pengyou Road have been in place and have been engaged in the construction of the bridge's main piers, striving to achieve the bridge's early closure.

According to Chongqing Expressway Group, the Yuxiang Double-Track Expressway has a total mileage of 280 kilometers and consists of three sections: Banan to Pengshui, Pengshui to Youyang, and Wulong to Daozhen, with an average bridge-tunnel ratio of 80%. After the project is completed, the journey from Chongqing's central urban area to Youyang and Hunan will be shortened by 47.8 kilometers compared with the existing G65 Baomao Expressway Yuxiang section (Yuxiang Expressway), and the journey from Chongqing's central urban area to Yanhe, Guizhou, will be shortened by 79 kilometers. It will also effectively alleviate congestion on the existing Yuxiang Expressway and has far-reaching significance for further developing tourism resources along the route, promoting the integration of transportation and tourism, and driving economic and social development along the route.
