Recently, the Joint Office for Promoting the Construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle released the "2024 List of Major Projects for the Joint Construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle," which includes a total of 300 projects with a total investment of approximately 3.6 trillion yuan. With the advancement and implementation of these projects, the supporting role of major projects in the high-quality development of the twin-city economic circle will become even more evident.

First, further densify the modern infrastructure network. Implement 101 modern infrastructure projects, complete the Chengdu-Ziyang and other municipal (suburban) railways and the Kaijiang-Liangping and other inter-provincial expressways, accelerate the construction of Chongqing Jiangbei, Sichuan Leshan and other airports as well as the Chengdu-Chongqing Central Line, Chengdu-Dazhou-Wanzhou high-speed railway and other major Sichuan-Chongqing corridors, and orderly advance the implementation of the Yangtze River upstream shipping center. The accessibility and convenience of the "fourth pole" of the national comprehensive three-dimensional transportation network's main framework will be further enhanced.

Strive to complete the 1,000 kV ultra-high-voltage AC projects (Ganzi-Tianfu South-Chengdu East, Tianfu South-Tongliang) and other projects, accelerate the construction of a national natural gas (shale gas) base with a capacity of 100 billion cubic meters, and make the "energy artery" of the Chengdu-Chongqing region even smoother. Within the year, start construction of the Dajijin and other backbone water conservancy projects, and continuously strengthen water security.

Second, further optimize the modern industrial system. Implement 114 modern industrial system projects, focusing on the *** industrial clusters jointly built by Sichuan and Chongqing in electronic information, equipment manufacturing, automobiles, specialty consumer goods, as well as strategic emerging industries such as robotics and intelligent connected vehicles. Accelerate the implementation of a number of influential industrial projects such as Yibin lithium batteries, Mianyang Giant Star Permanent Magnets, and Deyang aerospace and gas turbine equipment. A regional industrial chain and supply chain system with distinctive characteristics, safety, and reliability is being continuously improved, and the level and core competitiveness of Sichuan-Chongqing industrial clusters will be further enhanced.

Third, further enhance regional collaborative innovation capacity. Implement 31 scientific and technological innovation projects, complete and put into use major scientific and technological infrastructure projects such as the Jinping Deep Earth Laboratory, accelerate the construction of major innovation platforms such as the Chengdu-Chongqing Comprehensive Science Center and the Western Science City, and start construction of major scientific facilities such as the China Earthquake Science Experimental Site. The Chengdu-Chongqing region is accelerating its transformation into an important national source of scientific and technological innovation.

Fourth, further polish the Bashu cultural and tourism brand. Implement 17 cultural and tourism projects with Bashu characteristics, advance the quality improvement projects of traditional commercial districts such as Chongqing Guanyinqiao and Sichuan Chunxi Road as well as distinctive commercial blocks such as Shapingba Ciqikou and Chengdu Kuanzhai Alley, accelerate the construction of landmark cultural and tourism projects such as the Sanxingdui National Cultural Heritage Protection and Utilization Demonstration Zone (Phase I), and speed up the creation of world-renowned commercial districts and international tourism destinations.

Fifth, further consolidate the ecological barrier in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. Implement 14 ecological and environmental projects, accelerate the construction of projects such as the Giant Panda National Park and the "Six Rivers Ecological Corridor," continue to carry out environmental governance, implement joint actions for carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, promote resource recycling, deepen the joint construction and protection of the ecological environment, and accelerate the formation of a green and low-carbon development highland.

Sixth, further raise the level of opening up. Implement 5 opening-up projects, accelerate the construction of projects such as the Chongqing-Guizhou Comprehensive Service Area of the New Western Land-Sea Corridor and the Southwest (Zigong) Dry Port, make opening-up channels smoother, and accelerate the formation of an inland opening-up hub.

Seventh, further share public services on a mutually beneficial basis. Implement 18 public service projects, complete the Southwest Regional Emergency Rescue Center, one of the country's six major regional emergency rescue centers, accelerate the implementation of projects such as the Suining-Tongnan Regional Vocational Education Center, and start construction of a number of national regional medical center projects such as the Yibin Hospital of the Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University. Population absorption and comprehensive service functions will continue to improve.

Sichuan and Chongqing will, with the drive of "starting as if it were a decisive battle and sprinting from the very start," anchor to the annual tasks, strengthen factor guarantees, enhance coordination and scheduling, and make every effort to promote the early start of construction of new projects, accelerate the formation of more physical work volume for ongoing projects, and put completed projects into operation and use as early as possible, so as to push the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle to accelerate.
