2016 Cross-Strait Geotechnical Engineering and Geotechnical Technology Exchange Symposium

The Cross-Strait Geotechnical Engineering/Geotechnical Technology Exchange Symposium is co-hosted by the Deep Foundation Construction Branch of the China Construction Industry Association (mainland) and the Geotechnical Technology Research and Development Foundation (Taiwan). It is held every two years, alternating between the mainland and Taiwan. Since the first session was held in Beijing in 1992, nine sessions have been held successively in Taipei (1993), Xi'an (1994), Shanghai (2002), Taipei (2004), Tianjin (2007), Taichung (2009), Guangzhou (2011), and Taipei (2013). The convening of these conferences has played a tremendous role in promoting mutual understanding, strengthening friendship, advancing technology, and achieving win-win cooperation between the geotechnical technology/geotechnical engineering communities on both sides of the strait.
