On June 30, extreme weather featuring heavy rainstorms and hail struck Dongsheng District of Ordos City in Inner Mongolia. Egg-sized hailstones smashed the windshields of some cars into sieve-like patterns. Water accumulated severely in some low-lying areas of the urban district, and a large number of vehicles were submerged in the water.

       According to Xinhua Net, at around 15:10, Dongsheng District of Ordos City was suddenly hit by severe convective weather, resulting in natural disasters of rainstorms and hail. So far, 8 deaths and 1 missing person have been reported. The severe convective weather caused serious waterlogging in low-lying areas of Dongsheng District's urban area, flooding of some single-story houses, and traffic congestion.
