According to statistics, the national recycling rate of insulation materials is only 5%, with over 95% being discarded or landfilled. This not only pollutes the environment but also wastes huge resources. Among these wastes, materials such as silicate cotton and aluminum silicate cotton are often discarded after a single use. It is estimated that the 'discard old and use new' practice alone causes annual energy and resource losses of over 5 billion yuan nationwide, with staggering waste quantities. In fact, in the eyes of Jiangsu Qiaoxing Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd., these wastes are excellent resources. If all these wastes were recycled using the insulation and heat preservation patent technology developed by Cao Fengying, the head of Qiaoxing Company, it would save the country over 8 billion yuan in resources annually.

Yixing, a picturesque city on the shores of Taihu Lake known as the 'land of fish and rice', is a place with outstanding people and abundant resources, often called 'a brilliant pearl embedded in Taihu Lake'. With over 7,000 years of pottery-making history, it is the hometown of purple clay teapots, a famous tourist destination at home and abroad, and a nationally renowned 'hometown of environmental protection'.

Yixing stands out in China due to its thriving environmental protection industry, currently hosting over 800 environmental protection enterprises. Jiangsu Qiaoxing Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. is the only enterprise among them to have won the 'Green Star' environmental label.

The head, Cao Fengying, is well-known and highly respected in the local environmental protection industry. Her reputation stems not only from donating 100,000 yuan to build roads for her hometown, but also from her 18 years of painstaking research and development of composite insulation and heat preservation material patent technology, and from her perseverance and dedication to environmental protection throughout her life.

Non-combustible Building Material Wins Honor—'Green Star'

'The reason we developed this insulation and heat preservation material is that we saw serious waste in building materials. The country advocates energy conservation and emission reduction, and we hope to put it into practice.' — Cao Fengying, General Manager of Qiaoxing Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd.

Over 20 years ago, Cao Fengying entered the environmental protection industry, specializing in the research, development, and production of patented environmental protection technologies, and achieved remarkable results.

Currently, Cao Fengying owns two environmental protection companies: Yixing Qiaoxing Environmental Protection Equipment Co., Ltd. and Jiangsu Qiaoxing Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd.

Initially, Qiaoxing specialized in the design, manufacturing, and installation of desulfurization and dust removal equipment for coal-fired boilers. After years of research and engineering practice, and in response to various practical problems encountered in operations, Qiaoxing later developed environmental protection products such as soundproof enclosures, silencers, cooling tower fillers, wear-resistant and anti-corrosion materials, insulation materials, fly ash separation equipment, various high, medium, and low-pressure blowers and induced draft fans, and sewage treatment equipment.

In 2005, Qiaoxing successfully developed a vehicle-mounted rapid stripping and recycling system. Between 2006 and 2007, it conducted research on resource utilization of recycled materials, successfully developing a non-combustible composite rare earth insulation and heat preservation material, and obtained multiple national patents.

Qiaoxing's innovation in insulation and heat preservation technology not only relieves enterprises of the trouble of double payment (stripping, cleaning, renewal, and landfill fees) but also provides owners with convenient one-stop services including stripping, recycling, installation, and renewal, saving both stripping costs and time. For manufacturers, although free on-site stripping and recycling require some expenditure, they obtain free 'raw materials', which can save costs, lower prices, and expand market space. More importantly, these patented technologies can increase the recycling rate of waste resources to over 85%, meaning that energy consumption per cubic meter of composite insulation material production will be reduced by over 70%. The use of this composite insulation material will greatly reduce environmental pressure and have a profound impact on energy conservation, consumption reduction, and resource utilization.

Qiaoxing's major breakthrough in the regeneration and composite technology of insulation material waste is undoubtedly of milestone significance, whether for General Manager Cao herself, for the future development of Qiaoxing, or for the national energy conservation and emission reduction policy.

In 2007, Qiaoxing built a production line with an annual capacity of 100,000 cubic meters. To date, it has cumulatively produced over 20,000 cubic meters of new insulation materials. The products have been used by more than 10 companies, including Huaneng Nanjing Power Plant, Changshu Thermal Power Plant, Jiangyin Huashan Power Plant, Shanghai Meishan Metallurgical Company, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Thermal Power Plant, Yixing Xielian Power Plant, and DSM Citric Acid (Wuxi) Co., Ltd. They have been particularly well-received and highly praised in industries such as metallurgy, casting, power, building materials, and machinery. Consequently, Qiaoxing's patented technological achievements have also received high attention and recognition from provincial and municipal authorities. Not long ago, the China Association of Environmental Protection Industry awarded Qiaoxing's non-combustible building material the 'Green Star' environmental label honor.
