“The products at this year's expo are more technologically advanced.” On September 3, Li Jianhua, Chairman of SANY Northwest Heavy Industry, was invited to attend the roundtable meeting of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization at the Third China-Eurasia Expo. In an interview with the media, he expressed his views on the expo.

In 2011, SANY invested in and built the Northwest Industrial Park in Xinjiang. Subsequently, relying on the Northwest Industrial Park, it began the dream of building another SANY in Xinjiang, hoping to use Xinjiang as a springboard to realize a strategic layout in which its products radiate into Central Asia and to open up the heavy industry “Silk Road.”

Under SANY's careful cultivation, its concrete pumping agent Xinjiang Zhongtai and its excavator agent Xinjiang Jinghong both rank first in local market share. To further enhance SANY's brand influence in the five northwestern provinces and the five Central Asian countries, the company has also frequently used the international platform of the China-Eurasia Expo to demonstrate SANY's technological and brand strength.

According to reports, SANY has participated in the China-Eurasia Expo for three consecutive years. At the first two expos, SANY achieved impressive sales results, securing a total of 126 million yuan in sales orders. Regarding this year's expo, Li Jianhua expressed optimism, and he is also very confident about the future development of the construction machinery market in Xinjiang and the entire Central Asian region.

“Last December, the first batch of products from SANY Northwest Heavy Industry was pre-ordered by customers while still in production, achieving a good start in sales.” According to Li Jianhua, the SANY Northwest Industrial Park has now established four major assembly production lines for concrete pumping, mixer trucks, excavators, and truck cranes, and has achieved streamlined operations and mass production. In May this year, the company achieved mass production of structural parts for concrete mixing stations.

Li Jianhua said that products manufactured at the Northwest Industrial Park will mainly target and supply the local Xinjiang market and be exported to Central Asian countries such as Russia and Ukraine. Starting in 2013, 90% of all machinery products sold by SANY in the five northwestern provinces and the five Central Asian countries will be produced in Xinjiang, and the heavy industry “Silk Road” has already been opened up.

It is expected that by 2016, the SANY Northwest Industrial Park will have a manufacturing capacity of 4,000 concrete machinery units, 2,500 excavators, and 1,500 truck cranes per year, with an output value of up to 6 billion yuan and 5,000 jobs provided.

SANY's “big move” in the northwest not only conforms to the national strategic plan for developing the northwest, but has also attracted the attention of Party and state leaders.

On April 8 this year, Zhang Gaoli, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, accompanied by Zhang Chunxian, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Autonomous Region Party Committee, Miao Wei, Minister of Industry and Information Technology, and Nur Bekri, Chairman of the Autonomous Region, and other leaders, inspected the SANY Northwest Heavy Industry Industrial Park.

“The SANY Northwest Industrial Park will be based in Xinjiang, oriented toward the northwest, and radiate into Central Asia. It will become the largest machinery and equipment manufacturing base in the northwest. In addition, Northwest Heavy Industry will also enter the coal chemical industry, establish a world-class coal chemical research institute in Xinjiang, and strive to realize the industrial dream of ‘building another SANY.’” This is the investment plan for SANY in Xinjiang outlined by Liang Wengen, Chairman of SANY Heavy Industry.

Echoing the Northwest Industrial Park's entry into operation and the opening of the “Central Asia bridgehead,” SANY acquired Putzmeister in 2012, formed a joint venture with Palfinger, and saw international sales exceed the 10 billion yuan mark. SANY has continued to make major moves and achieve outstanding results in internationalization.
