China Deep Foundation Engineering Network News The Deep National Key Laboratory Geotechnical Foundation Technology R&D and Promotion Center (referred to as the Deep National Key Laboratory Foundation Center) was established relying on the State Key Laboratory of Deep Geomechanics and Underground Engineering, and is mainly dedicated to basic theoretical research and commercialization of scientific and technological achievements in the field of geotechnical foundations. Guided by market demand and problems, the Center has achieved deep integration of industry, academia, research and application, providing support for the high-quality development of the industry.

To promote the further development of the Center's work, the Deep National Key Laboratory Foundation Center held the "Deep National Key Laboratory Foundation Center Development and Construction Seminar and Center Unveiling Ceremony" at the State Key Laboratory of Deep Geomechanics on January 19. The conference received careful guidance from the State Key Laboratory of Deep Geomechanics and Underground Engineering, the Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics and Engineering, and the China Foundation Engineering Technology Innovation Intellectual Property Alliance, and was supported by the online live streaming service of China Deep Foundation Engineering Network. The conference was held both offline and online simultaneously, attracting widespread attention and active discussion from industry peers.

At the beginning of the conference, under the guidance of Associate Professor Liu Dongqiao, Party Branch Secretary of the State Key Laboratory of Deep Geomechanics and Underground Engineering, the attending guests visited the exhibition hall of the State Key Laboratory of Deep Geomechanics and Underground Engineering, where everyone gained a close understanding of the innovative research conducted by the State Key Laboratory in basic theories, applied technologies, process methods and engineering materials for deep rock mass mechanics and disaster control.

At the unveiling ceremony, Academician He Manchao pointed out in his speech that scientific and technological innovation is the ** driving force leading development, and the establishment of the Center organically combines scientific and technological innovation with physical engineering, in line with the direction of national policy. Director Cao Jichang emphasized that scientific and technological innovation should strengthen the dominant position of enterprises, and introduced the results of cooperation between the Science and Technology and Industrialization Development Center and the Foundation Center. Professor Yang Xiaojie read out the approval document of the Foundation Center and the appointment documents for senior experts of the Development Strategy Committee and the Academic Committee of the Foundation Center.

At the same time, the Deep National Key Laboratory Foundation Center appointed 8 experts including Academician Liu Hanlong as members of the Development Strategy Advisory Committee, and appointed 14 experts including Li Guangxin as members of the Academic Committee, and issued appointment letters to the relevant experts.

During the development and construction seminar of the Foundation Center, Director Ma Rongquan reported on the Center's construction progress and core technology R&D and application. The Center stated that it will be guided by innovation leadership, promote the "1321" operating model, fully implement all tasks, and strive to build the Foundation Center into a domestically first-class and internationally renowned platform for innovative R&D and promotion and application of geotechnical foundations. The conference also arranged expert discussions, and Academician Liu Hanlong chaired the seminar on innovative technologies. Government supervisory leaders, academic experts and enterprise representatives exchanged views on the benefits of innovative technologies in engineering applications and put forward reasonable suggestions.
