On January 18, the SANY Port Machinery 2024 Electric New Product Launch was successfully held, bringing together more than 300 industry experts from around the world to witness the latest achievements in the electrification of port machinery.

Zhang Ruxing, Secretary-General of the Container Branch of the China Ports and Harbours Association, delivered a speech at the launch event, stating that SANY began advancing product electrification in 2018 and has driven the development of the industry. The association will further build an interconnected platform to empower enterprises to jointly advance the construction of green and low-carbon ports.

Fu Weizhong, Chairman of SANY Port Machinery, delivered a speech at the event and expressed gratitude for customers' choices and support over the years. "Customer recognition is the source of motivation for SANY to keep moving forward on the three major strategic development paths of globalization, digital intelligence, and low-carbonization. Through products with the most complete model range, the lowest energy consumption, and the highest returns, SANY helps customers succeed and has also achieved a compound growth of 35% for SANY Port Machinery over the past six years, with overseas sales growing by more than 85% for consecutive years."

Chen Jing, General Manager of SANY Port Machinery, said: "Users vote with data. SANY invests 5% of sales in R&D every year, adheres to the development philosophy of 'selling one generation, developing one generation, and reserving one generation' in electrification, and provides a continuous stream of innovation momentum. At the event site, a new energy fleet of port equipment consisting of 15 products was in full impressive display, including three pure electricreach stackersthree additional models, including extended-range reach stackers, battery-swapping reach stackers, two pure electric empty container handlers, battery-swapping empty container handlers, two electric container trucks, two electric heavy forklifts, unmanned flatbed vehicles, battery-swapping shuttle vehicles, and small automatic battery charging and swapping stations. Lined up in a row, they all made their appearance to be reviewed by major global ports and outstanding logistics enterprises.

"Lower consumption" is one of the themes of this launch event. Each product is equipped with different combinations of energy-saving technologies, pushing low energy consumption to the extreme. The energy recovery systems of the pure electric reach stacker and pure electric empty container handler can recover 4 kWh of electricity per hour, with comprehensive energy consumption 22% lower than similar products; the E2A extended-range reach stacker requires no charging pile and no urea while reducing fuel-mode energy consumption by 45%; the electric container truck saves 15% energy, and the cost per container is 73% lower than that of fuel vehicles.

SANY defines different products based on the working conditions of different types of customers, fully covering the three major technical routes of pure electric, extended-range, and battery swapping. In combination with the complex working conditions of terminals, it has developed the industry's first battery-swapping shuttle vehicle and small automatic battery charging and swapping station, meeting customers' need for fast battery swapping in 8 minutes directly at the operation site.

"Smarter" is another major theme of this launch event. With the support of intelligent technology, the "big guys" of port equipment show even greater "wisdom." A series of intelligent applications, including intelligent central control, 360° pedestrian recognition and anti-collision, automatic container alignment, automatic container number recognition, and anti-collision for railway high-voltage line poles, can make equipment management and operator management for ports and logistics enterprises more intelligent. The electric-intelligent collaboration demonstration area became a memorable "check-in spot" at the event, where users truly experienced the more comfortable, more efficient, and safer operating experience of SANY equipment.
