Recently, the right-span mid-span of the continuous rigid-frame bridge of the Guangshen Overpass at the East Second Ring Interchange node of the Huangpu Open Avenue Middle (East District Planning No. 10 Road - Yonghe Tunnel South Exit) Construction Project in Guangzhou was successfully closed, marking a breakthrough in the construction of the continuous girder and laying a solid foundation for the subsequent full-line breakthrough.

　　The Huangpu Open Avenue Middle (East District Planning No. 10 Road - Yonghe Tunnel South Exit) Construction Project is located in Huangpu District, Guangzhou, and is a quality-improvement and reconstruction project of existing roads. The project is constructed by the Guangzhou Development District Financial Investment Construction Project Management Center, agent-constructed by Guangzhou Dongjin New District Development Co., Ltd., designed by Jinan Municipal Design and Research Institute (Group) Co., Ltd., supervised by Guangzhou Municipal Engineering Supervision Co., Ltd., and undertaken by China Railway Beijing Engineering Group.

　　The scope undertaken by China Railway Beijing Engineering Group mainly includes: the new East Second Ring - Guangshen Overpass, quality improvement and reconstruction of existing roads, pedestrian bridges, Zhishan Flood Discharge Channel reconstruction, power tunnels, water supply and drainage pipelines, power cable trenches, and supporting greening works. Among these, the East Second Ring - Guangshen Overpass is a controlling, major and difficult project, with a total length of 1020.372 m, comprising 9 units and 26 spans. Piers 14-17 adopt left-span (84+133+75) m / right-span (77+126+89) m continuous rigid-frame bridges, crossing over the East Second Ring Expressway, Guangshen Expressway and three municipal roads, and is the rigid-frame continuous girder with the largest span in Huangpu District. The bridge has 6 closure segments in total, adopting the construction sequence of closing the mid-span first and then the side spans; the closure completed this time is the right-span mid-span.

　　To ensure a smooth closure, the Guangzhou Development District Key Project Promotion Center made every effort to resolve pipeline relocation and various land acquisition and demolition issues. The Huangpu Open Avenue Project Department of China Railway Beijing Engineering Group adhered to a high-quality and high-standard management philosophy, planned ahead, deployed scientifically, reversed the schedule, strictly controlled safety and quality, improved management efficiency, actively explored innovative techniques, and continuously optimized the construction scheme and concrete mix proportions, effectively shortening the cycle time of cantilever casting segment procedures and overcoming difficulties such as a narrow construction site and high operational difficulty, thus successfully completing the milestone target.

　　It is reported that the Huangpu Open Avenue Middle (East District Planning No. 10 Road - Yonghe Tunnel South Exit) Construction Project is a key project in Huangpu District, Guangzhou. The route runs through Huangpu from north to south, connecting externally to Guangzhou South Railway Station, Panyu and Nansha in the south, and to Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, Conghua and Baiyun in the north.

　　After the project is fully opened to traffic, it will link up the existing north-south traffic in Huangpu District, resolve the difficulties of Huangpu District's narrow and long north-south layout, insufficient longitudinal connections and inconvenient connections between clusters, strengthen Huangpu District's external traffic connections, accelerate the resolution of the imbalance between north and south development in Huangpu District, and be of great significance for enhancing the overall urban strength of Huangpu District and promoting the dynamic and cyclical economic and social development of Huangpu District.
