Recently, the Xiayan Tunnel on the newly built Songyang–Lishui section of the Quzhou–Lishui Railway was successfully holed through, marking phased progress in the project's construction. This is also the first tunnel over 1 kilometer on the entire Quzhou–Lishui Railway line to be holed through, laying a solid foundation for subsequent construction.

The Xiayan Tunnel is located within Songyang County, Lishui City, Zhejiang Province. It has a total length of 1,347.661 meters and is a single-tube, double-track tunnel designed for a speed of 200 km/h, with a maximum burial depth of approximately 155 m. Frequent geological changes, developed fissures, fractured rock masses, and poor surrounding rock stability made construction exceptionally difficult. According to reports, the natural slope at the exit section of the Xiayan Tunnel is about 50°, making it impassable for construction machinery and posing extremely high safety risks.

To ensure the smooth progress of the project, the Quzhou–Lishui Railway Construction Command actively coordinated with the participating units and optimized the construction organization. At the entrance portal, they also adopted mechanical excavation combined with controlled blasting and deployed two L20-N blasting vibration meters, thereby overcoming the adverse effects of a narrow construction site, the absence of accessible roads, steep terrain, complex geological conditions, and the entrance's proximity to a village, ensuring that the construction process remained safe and controllable.
